We walked back into AKL and headed to Jiko. We got to the counter and checked in..... well... not really. The CM couldn't find my ressie. He was checking all kinds of ways. He finally found it- It was for SUNDAY! I know I would have never made a ressie for Sunday considering I would be sitting in my house in CT 1200 miles away! He asked us to be seated and he would find us a table.
Now Jiko wasn't totally filled. There were empty table throughout the restaurant. We were seated and I almost felt a little out of place. There were a few kids in the restaurant.... but not many. Juliana is a very well behaved kid. She listens good and she knows what we expect of her. Sometimes I think our expectations may be high, even we forget that she is 2 (now 3). It is a good thing she is so well behaved because I don't know what we would have done if she wasn't.
We were looking over the menu and our waitress came over. Melody ordered a martini and I got a beer. We decided to get the Taste of Africa as an appetizer. There were 3-4 different types of bread and 3 different sauces to dip them in. It was good. We ordered our meals. I ordered the filet. It was placed on a bed of mac & cheese and had a red wine sauce. Melody had the pan-seared scallops. They came over butternut squash gratin with an apple slaw & apple vinaigrette. I'm not a huge fan of butternut squash but this might be close to the best food I've ever tasted in my life! I wished I didn't order filet and ordered this- although the filet was excellent as well. Juliana had the kids mac & cheese. We were debating whether to get dessert or not.. We decided not. We were all pretty full. This meal came to $130 with the tip.
Jiko has a different feel than all of the other restaurants we were at all week. We were glad we ate here and experienced it, but I don't think we will be rushing back here on our next trip. Keep in mind if you are on the
DDP Jiko is 2 TS meals per person. (we paid oop)
We left the restaurant and walked around for a few minutes. We checked out the pool area. There were quite a few people swimming. It was close to 8 by now. It was such a nice warm night. We went into the gift shop and looked around for a little while. Then headed back to our room..... we had our bags to pack.
After we were packed, I walked over the the concierge in El Centro to see about adding days to my ticket and also adding the no expiration option. After dealing with them for a while they suggested I goto guest services in DTD. I hopped on the bus and went. When the bus was dropping us off at DTD I quickly realized that I picked the right resort!

Our bus was changing from a CSR bus to an All-Stars bus. It dropped us off at the All-Stars stop. There were so many people at this stop including many teenagers. Believe me I have nothing against them but trying to get off the bus was tough cuz they were trying to get on. I was watching while I was walking away and they didn't even come close to fitting on this bus.
I walked over to guest services and I realized I messed up. With the 4/3 deal, I should have made our passes 10 day and added the no-expiration option when I originally made our reservation. (Long story search the boards to find out more) So after staying in DTD for about 20 minutes total, I walked back to the bus stop and quickly got on a bus back to CSR. By this time it was close to 11 and I had to get up early on Sunday. We were leaving.
