I think we ate at every character meal.. TRIP REPORT w/pics! FINISHED!!!!!!!

I would have freaked!

I was there a couple years ago when she did a show at the House of Blues. I'm a huge fan. And was sad that I had missed the performance being there. You know.

Your daughter is as adorable as she ever was on these pics :)

Britany Spears...what a trip!!!

I love the Savannah views. I have never seen a picture from that perspective. I had no idea that the animals were that close! Looks really cool! I just might have to try that sometime. :thumbsup2

Your daughter is beautiful!!!

Yea there were times the animals were walking right up to the building. It would be so cool waking up to seeing that every morning.

I would have freaked!

This would of been me 'Hey look.. it's Britney Spears!'
DW would have been 'OH MY GOD BRITNEY SPEARS!!!!!!! LETS GO TALK TO HER! OH MY GOD. I HAVE TO CALL SOMEONE.... OH MY GOD WHERE"S THE CAMERA... OH MY GOD!" :rotfl2:

On our honeymoon she was standing behind Carson Daily in the airport waiting to buy a water. I was watching her and she was so excited. She almost freaked out!

Thanks so much..... Although this one makes me a little sad. She looks so big in this picture. My little girl is growing up.

We walked back into AKL and headed to Jiko. We got to the counter and checked in..... well... not really. The CM couldn't find my ressie. He was checking all kinds of ways. He finally found it- It was for SUNDAY! I know I would have never made a ressie for Sunday considering I would be sitting in my house in CT 1200 miles away! He asked us to be seated and he would find us a table.

Now Jiko wasn't totally filled. There were empty table throughout the restaurant. We were seated and I almost felt a little out of place. There were a few kids in the restaurant.... but not many. Juliana is a very well behaved kid. She listens good and she knows what we expect of her. Sometimes I think our expectations may be high, even we forget that she is 2 (now 3). It is a good thing she is so well behaved because I don't know what we would have done if she wasn't. :lovestruc

We were looking over the menu and our waitress came over. Melody ordered a martini and I got a beer. We decided to get the Taste of Africa as an appetizer. There were 3-4 different types of bread and 3 different sauces to dip them in. It was good. We ordered our meals. I ordered the filet. It was placed on a bed of mac & cheese and had a red wine sauce. Melody had the pan-seared scallops. They came over butternut squash gratin with an apple slaw & apple vinaigrette. I'm not a huge fan of butternut squash but this might be close to the best food I've ever tasted in my life! I wished I didn't order filet and ordered this- although the filet was excellent as well. Juliana had the kids mac & cheese. We were debating whether to get dessert or not.. We decided not. We were all pretty full. This meal came to $130 with the tip.

Jiko has a different feel than all of the other restaurants we were at all week. We were glad we ate here and experienced it, but I don't think we will be rushing back here on our next trip. Keep in mind if you are on the DDP Jiko is 2 TS meals per person. (we paid oop)

We left the restaurant and walked around for a few minutes. We checked out the pool area. There were quite a few people swimming. It was close to 8 by now. It was such a nice warm night. We went into the gift shop and looked around for a little while. Then headed back to our room..... we had our bags to pack. :guilty:

After we were packed, I walked over the the concierge in El Centro to see about adding days to my ticket and also adding the no expiration option. After dealing with them for a while they suggested I goto guest services in DTD. I hopped on the bus and went. When the bus was dropping us off at DTD I quickly realized that I picked the right resort!:goodvibes Our bus was changing from a CSR bus to an All-Stars bus. It dropped us off at the All-Stars stop. There were so many people at this stop including many teenagers. Believe me I have nothing against them but trying to get off the bus was tough cuz they were trying to get on. I was watching while I was walking away and they didn't even come close to fitting on this bus.

I walked over to guest services and I realized I messed up. With the 4/3 deal, I should have made our passes 10 day and added the no-expiration option when I originally made our reservation. (Long story search the boards to find out more) So after staying in DTD for about 20 minutes total, I walked back to the bus stop and quickly got on a bus back to CSR. By this time it was close to 11 and I had to get up early on Sunday. We were leaving.:sad2::sad2:

Packing to go home is sad. But at the same time I can't wait to tell everyone about my vacation.

I wake up to the alarm going off... then the phone's ringing. Its 6:10am. What made it worse was it was like it was 5:10. The time change was last night. I rolled out of bed, took a quick shower, and starting getting all the last things in our bags. Melody was packing as well. We let Juliana sleep till 6:45, then we had to get her up as well. When I opened the door, there was an envelope that had all our room charges in it. I didn't have to goto the front desk (which I ended up doing anyways). I started packing up the car while Melody was getting Juliana changed. We did one last look over the room and shut the door.:sad1: It was 7am. WOW we were on schedule!

We drove over to the Pepper Market for breakfast. We had 2 CS & 1 snack credit left. I think I had eggs every day this trip. I was egged out! I ended up eating a waffle. It was nice and hot made right in front of me. It also had bananas and nuts on top. YUMMMM. (still not as good as those macadamia nut pancakes from Kona) I forget what Melody had. Juliana ate some cereal.

Juliana had a big princess balloon that we had bought her earlier in the week. We told her it would be nice if she would give it to someone because we couldn't bring it on the plane with us. So she found a little girl sitting a few tables away from us and walked over to her. Juliana asked her if she wanted her balloon. The little girl did but her dad explained that they were leaving today too and they couldn't accept the balloon. I felt bad and I started wondering if this was the right thing to be doing. About 2 tables away there was another little girl and her brother. Juliana asked the girl if she wanted her balloon. The little girl didn't want it but the little boy did. She gave him the balloon and we walked away. I was so proud of her. Being an only child and not being around a lot of kids because of her being sick, she sometimes has a hard problem sharing. (and the fact she's only 2!) She still talks about her balloon that she gave to the little boy.

We stopped by the gift shop to spend the last of the money on our $200 gift card. Then I stopped by the front desk to make sure the roads I was going to be driving on weren't closed because of the princess half marathon. Got my info and started walking out of El Centro. Holding Juliana's little hand in one hand and Melody's in my other, I knew we had a great vacation that we would never have the 'same' experience again.

We got in the car and starting driving.

In 3 short days our daughter would be 3 years old, and the week leading up to her birthday was one of the greatest weeks we ever experienced as a family. It was time to head to the airport and get back to Connecticut and tell everyone about our adventures!:goodvibes

I am sad too! I'm trying to figure out what to do now. UMMMM plan another trip? LOL:rotfl2:

I have enjoyed your trip report! It made me sad reading about your last day. We countdown to these Disney trips for what seems like forever and then they just fly by! The morning of departure is just agony!

Its nice to be home early... I think we were in our house by 2:15pm, but next time it would be a little nicer to have a 12-1pm flight. That would still get us to our house by 6pm, which isn't too bad. The early flights are killers

Maybe I can write an amendment to my TR by writing about walking through the Orlando airport with DW & DD- 3 carry-ons, a notebook computer, a purse, a stroller, and a car seat. LOL:lmao:

I'm so sad it's over. I loved all the pictures you added. I will miss you all.

Such a great report. I really think you should start planning your next trip! Thanks for sharing your wonderful vacation with us!

Great report!
I love how you said your DD wanted to swim by herself. Last year when my DD was 3 that was a big deal to her too. It was this year as well, but we had it figured out this time, so didn't even attempt to "hold" her in the water. LOL!
I am so missing the world too. I am still working on day 2 of my report. So it does help keep the feeling linger. And going through the pictures does take forever. Thats what is slowing me down the most. LOL!

We might be planning with friends of ours for a trip sometime next year. A cruise might be involved as well. I guess you could say we are in the pre-pre planning stage. LOL:confused3

I'll be checking yours out too. I'm currently following 3 other TR. I'll add yours to my list too!!! When people comment it almost 'pressures' you to keep writing! Thanks for reading!!!!!:goodvibes

ugh- I came into this report late, but I have really looked forward to your updates and reading all about your trip. Too sad it's all done!! Maybe you should start a pre trip report for your next trip!! Good luck to you and your beautiful family.

To tell you the truth... I've never read a pre trip report. I guess I should read a few to see what they are all about. With writing this report my wife walks by and says 'You on that computer again?' There isn't enough time in the day to read ALL the posts on the DIS!!!:rotfl:

We have to goto Orlando for a few days this fall, I'm sure we will make a 'quick' stop in Disney. Has anyone ever done a 1 day trip report? LOL

Thanks for reading.

I think I have a few more tidbits to add to this TR before its totally done!
