I think we are going to make it

After everything that has happened this past week with my DH and his gout/leg problems I think we are really gonna go. He is taking his pain meds.. the swelling is gone in his leg. His foot is still swollen but with his sandals and the pain meds he was actually walking almost normally this afternoon.

The car is half packed, I have the last load of laundry in the dryer and we are ready to go.

Please please please cross your fingers and keep those prayers and pixie dust coming for us.

Even if we can't tour the parks like we normally do just being at WDW is better than being home. Our family will be together in our favorite place and that is all we need. I don't think I would mind lounging around the WL pool sipping pina coladas and just taking everything slowly and relaxing.. as long as he is OK and we are all together. That is all that matters.

Thanks everyone. It is 6am and we are up and getting ready to head out. Ian didn't need to get up at all during the night for any pain meds and when I asked him on a scale of 1- 10 how was the pain.. he said only a 3. And this is with the last pain pill being around 9pm last night.

I am so excited! I could barely sleep last night.

Ok.. off to the shower.

wow! You sure have had a roller coaster ride! Glad you are going to be able to go.
I would be HEARTBROKEN if I ever had to cancel a trip. You guys sure deserve this after all you've been through.

Well we are here in Baton Rouge. We drove for about 7 hours today. DH drove 4 and I drove 3. His foot swelled up a bit more from sitting in the car, but the pain meds are still working. He is moving, just slowly.

I really hope a few more days and he will be back to normal, but I have a gut feeling this is something that is going to be persistant.
