I think my cousein has lost her mind

When I got pregnant in law school, my DH's grandmother informed me that I now had a child whose interests should come before my own and I should quit school and take care of the baby. :scared1: I was horrified at her suggestion and I am horrified at the OP as well. There may be many reasons for your cousin to go back to school, and if she feels it is important (and frankly you have no idea why she is doing it but can only guess) she has the obligation to herself and her family to do what she thinks is right. MYOB!

Thanks. I really appreciate your perspective on this. He is getting after school tutoring which has helped pull up his grades but he is still in danger of being held back in 2nd grade. He really needs to be in this special school but I can't force her to take the steps to get him there. But you can guarantee in 10 years if he is a juvenile delinquent and she is asking me what happened, I will be telling her.

That is a bit catty. I can tell you are jumping at the chance to say something.
Also, with her going to school it can increase her chances of landing a good job because who knows how much she will be getting from child support.
