So I'm in the middle of baking some cookies yesterday for our cookie swap. I'm making chocolate sandwich cookies. I made the cookie part already but I think there was a misprint on the recipe in the cookbook for the frosting part. It listed the ingredients as...
8 oz of cream cheese softened
3-4 cups of powered sugar
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
Then I go on to read the instructions and it says....
Beat cream cheese AND BUTTER, then add powdered sugar and vanilla.
WTH, it never mentioned butter in the ingredients. Question is....am I supposed to have butter and they just forgot to add it in the ingredient list, if so, how much do I need. OR am I NOT supposed to have butter but they added the mistake into the instructions?
AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!! Help. I'm supposing the frosting needs to be a little stiffer than normal since I'm putting it between two cookies, no? Just for reference, the cookbook that I'm using is Taste of Home's Best Loved Cookies & Bars, page 134 "Chocolate Sandwich Cookies" (it has a picture of snowman cookies along with a couple other various cookies)
