For years, my husband wouldn't go to Disney with us. We would go with other family members and leave him at home. Then 8 years ago, I talked him into going for a week. He enjoyed it but in his words "was good for a long time and didn't need to go back". Then on our anniversary 3 years ago I talked him into a long weekend for just the 2 of us and we only visited Epcot staying at Pop Century. During that trip, he said I think the kids would rather come back here this summer than go to the beach! So that June, we were back at Pop for a week. Last summer, I talked him into another week at Caribbean Beach. So I thought I'll just not mention it this year since I've got him there 3 times in the last 2 years. Then Sunday night, HE says to me "Let's go to Disney this summer!"

Yay!!! It only took 17 years, but I think he's finally admitting that he loves Disney as much as the rest of us!!!:cool1:

Wow now that you won him over would you like to come and try with mine.I have never been able to get him there in all my years of trying

I am so happy for you!

:thumbsup2 have an internet high 5 from me! i too have a anti disney husband. he begrudgingly goes along with family vacations and trips to DL but he goes because he knows our kid loves it. it's taken 10 years, but he will actually have an opinion about which hotel or restaurant he prefers now. it was POR and epcot that won him over. you can still literally watch him bristle when friends come to town and want us to meet them at Disneyland tho.

So there is hope for my wife? She was there once, 1999. I have been back probably 35 times. Heading there in 6 weeks with our daughter and two grandsons. But not her. :confused3

Yay! Congratulations! My DH is anti-Disney as well. However, I asked him to go last summer with just the two of us and I think he had a good time. We are heading back in June because my daughter is dancing in a MK parade. He is coming along but I think it's mostly because his DS 8 (my step son) has never been and he thinks he "should" go.

That said, I'm happy to leave him home next year. My mom and I LOVE WDW, and honestly, I'm kind of anxious with him going because I feel like I'll have to drag him around and try to make him see all the magic. Too much stress! I think I'd rather just go without him and enjoy myself with my mom and kids since we all love it! I feel slightly guilty about that though...haha! I'm hoping he surprises me!
