hello all! staying at the dolphin on new years eve. We booked a standard room at the time of reservation. I just joined Starwood and applied my number to my reservation, even got the credit card.

well, just today, i take a look at the website where you can look at your reservations. This is what it said:

Room Description View Of Crescent Lake. The Room Contains Iron And Ironing Board, Coffee Maker, Hair Dryer And Wall Safe. R

Room Amenities Traditional Non-Smoking, Resort View, Free Highspeed Internet Acces, Armoire/Tv/Stocked Minibar, Movies/Games/Video Check Out

hmmmm.............does this mean i got upgraded!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

does this mean we can watch the fireworks from our room??
does a resort view mean your guarunteed a view of epcot?

thanks for your help

I don't think so - the resort could be the Swan - not the YC or BC - if you are luck it will be the BW and yes I think you can see the fireworks over these resorts. You need to be up high.

A resort view is an upgrade from a limited view, but it doesn't necessarily mean you will be able to see fireworks. When we stayed at the Dolphin, we were upgraded to a resort view of cresent lake and did have a very nice view. We could see the Swan, the Boardwalk and Tower of Terror at MGM in the distance. Had we been across the hall, we probably could have seen the Epcot fireworks. We were always in the park at that time anyway, so we weren't bothered by it.

Resort view will probably be MGM. You should be able to see ToT in the distance but probably not much more. ::yes::

on our reservation confirmation when I checked the spg webpage. I had booked a standard room at the AP rate which automatically gave me a 1 level upgrade to a lakeview. However, after I emailed a request to face EPCOT in a renovated room, I checked again and it had been changed to resortview. If you want to watch the fireworks from your room, just request to be on the East wing facing Epcot with a view of the fireworks. You will need to be on a higher floor. We were on the 7th flr and the girl at checkout said they were up to the 9th floor with newly renovated rooms.

You have been upgraded! To what particular "resort" view, is still in question. Please let them know through the website and when you are at the desk that you would prefer/LOVE to have an east wing/EPCOT view!

Congrats!
Debbie
