I'm so lost, I don't know which MOD to pick. I LOVED:lovestruc POFQ but I want to stay somewhere different. POR didn't look at interesting to me. Our ressie is CSR but DH says it doens't excite him. CBR doesn't excite me. We are going in december so the pool really isn't that big of a deal. DS might go in once but that's it. I picked CSR because of the queen beds and the upscale look. Also, I'm having a total hysterectomy 5 weeks prior to going so I will be recovering at WDW (best medicine ever) so I need soemthing that's easy to get around. I requested 9B or Casita 1 at CSR. I really don't want to pay for a preferred room at CBR. I would be a little dissappointed to stay at POFQ again, I'm on a mission to visit every hotel before I repeat. I feel like we have already stayed at POR since we went there a lot while at POFQ and I didn't care for it at all. What would you do.

We are at CSR right now. It's lovely and I'm sure you'd likeit too.

This is our first time at a moderate, has a great SW theme and the rooms are really nice. The beds are really comfortable too! It seems really big but we are in the Ranchos "at the back" and only about a 7 minute walk to El Centro

Enjoy!

I'd want to stay at CSR if I was recovering just for their new beds, they are WONDERFUL!

While the resort might not be small, they do have CM's driving around on golf carts that will pick you up and drive you where you want to go, so even if you were staying at the back of the resort, you could ride the golf cart up to the front for dining or whatever.

The resort is really pretty, and although I wasn't sold on it, I was very glad DH talked me into it for our March trip. We'll be back there in November!

I think I was at 9B when I stayed at CSR. I requested it because it was close to the main building and therefore a bus stop.

I wasn't recovering from surgery or anything, but I think it's a great resort and location within that resort.

We were advised to avoid the mods altogether if you had mobility issues, not just once but repeatedly. The CM on the reservation lnes went as far as to say a value would be better.

Don't count on this! We couldn't catch a single ride our last stay. Some conventions pay for 'golf cart taxi service' and all guests benefit, and some CM's may offer a ride, but this is not a service the resort offers.

CSR seems really nice...I have wanted to stay there, but since joining DVC we pretty much try to take advantage of our points when we go by staying at DVC resorts. I will say that I have stayed at CBR multiples times and absolutely loved it. It has such a great theme, and I didn't feel there was too much walking involved.

Have you checked into the price difference between a Mod and a standard room at the Wilderness Lodge? If the WL is doable price wise that's where I would stay if I were you. Its more compact - has boat transport to the MK - and is beautiful in December. I can't think of a more beautiful place to recover

the last time I checked the WL only had courtyard views which were about $1000 more. We can't afford that.

Don't know why they would tell you that? We have stayed at POFQ and POR and had no problems getting around. DW is in a wheelchair, so I guess if you were going to walk and had problems going long distances POFQ would be the better choice.

Ditto that! LOVED the new beds! We had a great time at CSR last week-- it is a wonderful resort.

POR didn't look at interesting to me.

Did you see both sides of of POR? I've stayed there for girls week, with my DH for our trip and now will be staying there with our kids. It really is a great resort. Great for walks, good restaurant, good entertainment, great quiet pools and main pool with a bar. Take another peek. I would really recommend this resort!!

I've stayed at all 4 mods - CSR is my favorite. Queen beds will make for a great recovery. It's a beautiful resort. The cm's were always nice and helpful and if you're close to the main building that shouldn't be bad at all.
Can you add a special request to your ressie based on your situation?

I beleive CBR does'nt have elevators and POR has them in certain buildings but I believe CSR has them in all their bldgs, I'm assuming stairs would also be an issue. Linda :)

Hi!! I'm from Gallatin, just up the road from you in Murfreesboro! We're staying at CSR in October. I had originally booked POFQ because I've always liked the look of it. A couple of years ago we went over to CSR and walked around--the grounds are beautiful. The renovated rooms and queen beds got me to switch our reservation from POFQ to CSR. I like the smallness of French Qtr, but I've settled on CSR for this trip. Just gotta try it out. I've requested Casitas 4--it's closest to the 1st bus stop.

We've stayed at ASmovies, ASmusic, Pop, POR and AKL. Visited some friends at CBR once--not sure that I'd want to stay there either. I'm sure it's nice, just didn't appeal to me with all the folliage and bus stops.

I hope you enjoy your trip and recuperate from your surgery quickly.

Rest easy...I stayed at the CSR right ofter open heart surgery and then right after a total knee replacement and the resort was very good about my room request. Both times our travel agent made the resort aware of my recent surgery and the CM's went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Yes, I do love this resort and yes I have stayed at the WL, CR, AKL, Poly, POR, POFQ and CSR is my favorite. Enjoy your stay and I wish you the best of health!

Personally I like CSR which we checked out on our last visit and it is really nice, that being said, have you checked out the Swan or the Dolphin? You get EMH priviledges and from what I've read they offer deluxe accomodations at mod prices. They have been running some great specials that may allow you to stay there in their "heavenly" beds. You cant book the Disney dining plan at either of those resorts, but given that you will be mediaclly recovering, it may make sense for you. Anyhow, somthing for you to consider. Good luck with your planning!

THANK YOU for this info. Yes stairs might be an issue. I put a request in for a 1st floor but just in case I don't get it I might want to avoid those resorts. Thanks everyone for easing my mind. I'm just nervous about the surgery and stressing about the trip. I hope CSR is great. :goodvibes

Your in my prayers.

I don't know why they would say to avoid the Mods and go with a value either with mobility problems.:confused3
