"I think I need my head examined" A camsmomE TR in AUG 2010 <<Updated 11/02/10>&g

We were at the Pop in August and the buses were excellent. We RARELY had much of a wait. Maybe because it was August, and busy, they may have run more buses? I don't know but we had no problems, and the ride to DHS was like less than 10 minutes, and EPCOT barely more than that. Only MK is about 15 minutes. Ak was fairly short too, but I don't remember exactly on the time because we didn't go there that much this trip. We spent no less than 3 days (mostly partial days) at DHS. That was new for us since we hardly ever spend much time there.

Can't wait til you have more time to write. But at least you are writing. I haven't started mine even though my journal is RIGHT there on the couch next to me. Hopefully after my workout class tomorrow, in between laundry loads, I'll have time to start!

popcorn::

Not meaning to hijack.. buses for us were not great. Drive time to Mk was at least 30 minutes...but the wait for a bus that we could ride on was longer. A ride from MK to Pop one night... Well, park closed at 10pm. We were at the front of the park (near the entrance) as Wishes ended. We did not hang around. I think we finally got back to Pop around midnight. This was kinda how it worked all the time. In the am, if we left our room by 8am...we would just get to the park by rope drop at 9am...and we were in the 60s and didn't stop for breakfast. That was out the door, to the bus stop and then to the park. :sad2:

I have heard that they are not normally as bad as we saw. I am not sure if there were just limited buses, or too many people, or more people on scooters/wheel chairs. The times we left in the middle of the day, in either direction, the buses were much better..so obviously park opening or closing caused congestion.

COngrats on planning 2 more trips! I am sooo jealous! :goodvibes

You had better get this TR done before you leave or you're going to forget what happened on which trip :rotfl: (I know I would!)

Wow.... I wonder why our experiences were so different with the buses? :confused3Maybe the week, crowd level? I know we never had a super long ride even to the MK.

I think it was the week... plus I know they were having some trouble with the buses. At least, that is what we were told one night when we were leaving DHS. I think we waited in line and did not get on a bus until the 4th bus. (maybe the third) The cm said that there was a dispatch problem back at Pop itself.

BTW, I couldn't help but notice in your sig. Your ds and youngest dd are 10 years apart? I have that age spread between my youngest two as well!:goodvibes

Ok guys! You have me for the next two days! Let's get this trip report finished so I can write the one from last week. :)

Cam's birthday weekend went well, the whole family (and the in-law family) were here (speaking in Spanish- hahaha Alli)- I will begin writing that trip report after this one, but I will tell you-- I hate the POP. I love EPCOT!

Change of plans for the November trip- we're still going, but now booked at the Beach Club Nov 19th through 21st.

We added a new "mom's trip" for beginning of February (to celebrate both my mom's and Mike's mom's birthdays- just a two-day trip).

ok... Now to get back to the AUG trip report for your reading pleasure. :surfweb: -Stace

Well almost a month ago... I left off with telling you about our dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Now I shall pick up with what occurred for the rest of the night. After our dinner, we took the entire meal that our wonderful waitress packed up back to the room and left it in the in-room fridge. next? Off to the boat dock to catch a ride to the MK where we will let our cute little munchie watch for the first time the Main Street Electrical Parade (which consequently was the very first parade watched by bother her mother and her father when they were little muchies.)

This was our longest [boat] wait time all trip (a whopping 9 minutes), and during this time, it started to drizzle. Being the veteran Floridians that we are, Mike and I immediately put on our cheap, thin-plastic ponchos from the Dollar Tree and slipped Cam's Minnie Mouse poncho on her, because even though we looked like ridiculous, paranoid, garbage-bag-wearing losers in the teensiest sprinkles of wetness falling from the clear sky... Ah silly people, don't judge... It WILL rain. It WILL pour. Buckets. and then who will be dry and happy?

anyways...

we arrived at the MK boat dock moments later, and exited into clear weather, sun shining, etc... We STILL wouldn't take off the ponchos because Florida weather is evil. As we walked by the line of people waiting to board the next boat, some eight-year-old boy hollered at his mommy "What's with those weird people in plastic wrap?" and me? well I died laughing.

So we get through bag check, and make our way through the turnstiles and what happens? RAIN. suckahs! Told-ja!

So nice and dry, although irritated from the sticky hotness of the junkie ponchos... come to think of it, we were more wet INSIDE the ponchos from the heat they were giving off, and Mike and I both took them off while it was still raining and laid them on the curb (which we had chosen as our parade-watching area). It stopped raining about 10 minutes later and I spotted what would later be my first purchase of the evening...

I turned to tell Mike I was going to go buy the "green Mickey balloon" I promised Cami, but they were gone! This is like my single worst fear in the entire world! But it's ok this time- I see them. Cami is getting in trouble. Mike is handling it. All is right with the "World." Turns out Cami ran off and tried to duck under some ropes, but Mike caught her and carried her back to our spot.

As you can see from the photos, our chosen spot was right of the entrance hub (if facing the castle). A minute or two after they returned, I bought Cameran her first Mickey balloon, and she was SO happy!!

Then I had to make Daddy happy.

I tried to foll around with the camera (taking night shots with no flash- the ISO was WAY off) and this was the best pic I managed to capture. I LOVE how excited that lady is on Mike's right! haha

Lollipops got us through the boring waiting time (did I mention there was a 25 minute "rain delay??"

Continued next post.

In continuation...

The parade started (and since we were standing at the beginning we started seeing floats right away). Yay! I have no photos of the parade because i shot video the entire 16 minutes (which I will figure out how to post later), but it was absolutely gorgeous! I did get some nice shots after the parade, as we were rounding the hub to head back out (back to Wilderness Lodge). please note giant spot on Mike's shorts- yes people- I laughed just as hard if not harder at him, than he laughed at me on Animal Kingdom day when i sat in the lime green gum! at least MINE wasn't BROWN! hahahaha

So, now... back in the room. All is at peace. Cameran is snug in her bed. Mike is relaxing with some TV. and rounding the corner from the bathroom, after getting fresh and clean for bed, I spot this sight before me [which made every single experience this week, good-bad-or pooppeeee... Worth it!]

Next up: Day FIVE- Hollywood Studios Day!

Yay! I love this update! Great shots of the castle! And I would ask how Mike got that stain on his shorts since you were supposedly sitting on your ponchos...but I probably just don't want to know! :rotfl2:

Love that pic of Cam at the end! And how cute that the first parade for ALL of you was the Main Street Electrical Parade! It occurred to me a few days that I didn't schedule that into our plans. I was going to add Hoppers to our last day so we could go from Epcot to MK just to see the MSEP, but there is a Halloween Party that night so it's a no-go.

All I see here is some nice b00bies!

So glad your last trip went so well! And I'm wondering what you didn't like about Pop! Obviously it's no WL! haha And I'm very jealous that you're so close and can take all of these trips!!!

When we got our annual passes, it was just to save money on next year's week-long trip. since then though, I've managed to help mike see the light at how much fun we could be having... 2 days at a time. :goodvibes

I was at POP in mid september and the buses were bad then. The ride was not bad but times I waited for 30 mins or more for a bus! Past years there were not that bad.

LOL That's the first thing I noticed when I saw that pic too! I was like umm...Stace.... ?? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

That's not ME people! LOL... Um... I wish... But no, seriously, I'm the one behind the camera that rarely gets in the shot. And I SWEAR I never even noticed that lady. I'm sure Mike did though! :thumbsup2

Yeah I have to agree, that was the 1st thing I noticed too. And the next thing I thought was "Um wow, can we say FAKE!" How you gonna wear that at Disney of all places! Disney doesn't have a Hooters anywhere around!
