I think I need an intervention....

Sigh!! I managed to stay off these boards for 4 months! But now my FP window is approaching and I am getting Disney fever again.
Since getting back on the boards I have added too many things to our trip! I'm very excited about it, but I think I'm getting carried away and am going to pass out when I look at the final cost.
Any tips on how to stop myself from going any farther?

Its so easy to do! lol I'm in the early - completely overwhelmed stage of planning. At this point I can't even decide which day I want to do which park! I've read too many guide books and websites. I think I need to take a break for a few days and clear my head, but we have to make dining reservations in about a week and a half and I am clearly not ready for that.

My husband surprised us with this trip, lovely surprise, but I find that I need a full year to plan. Having to do all of this "last minute" is stressing me out!

Start with your budget and THEN select what you can do within the budget. Prioritize which activities are truly important versus what would be nice to do, but is not vital. Select a few options to tell yourself, "next visit we will do this." Good luck!

I also need an intervention. In the last 8 days of June, I've worked out all but 2 days, (ran a 5k event today but did 4 miles on Fri and two on Thurs besides today and other workouts all week), worked 26 hours (part time), volunteered 19.5 hrs, cleaned house all week (including 45 min push mowing and 3 hrs of cleaning after my 5k run today) and basically I have been like a crazy person all week! But I'm still on these boards every day! Now that my awesome (not perfect but incredible trip) is over, these boards keep me going in between my Disney fixes. Its going to be like 18 months before our next planned trip... Sigh... That's a lot of forum time between now and then. I figure if I stay really really busy and keep in shape, eventually it will feel like time is passing quicker and I'll already be in shape for my trip, which I can't plan yet cuz its too early...Sigh...

My last trip was Oct 2013 and our next trip is planned for Oct 2017 - yes that's right - 3 1/2 yrs away and I still go back to these boards! Crazy, I know. But I am an empty nester and I have chores that I REALLY don't feel like doing so I come on these boards as an escape. Last night whatever it was I was reading, I was laughing so hard I scared my little pup!

I am afraid we might offer more encouragement then intervention. :-) However if you provide some details we might be able to assist. :-)

The details are extreme!
"special events" will include an Illuminations Cruise, Villains Unleashed, The Hoop-De-Doo Review and the Sunrise Safari.
We're staying 2 weeks at Jambo house.
Dining will include Cape May Clam Bake, Teppan Edo, Tusker, The Plaza, Boma, Mama Melrose (with Fantasmic), High Tea at the Grand Floridian, Brown Derby, Biergarten, Yak & Yeti, Liberty Tree Tavern, Sanaa, Jiko, Raglan Road and Le Cellier.
Actually, just looking at it spelled out that way... I think i'm done, lol.

Going all out, eh? That sounds like an AWESOME trip! Adding any more might make you pass out by the end of it all, but you know, it'll be worth it! I too often suffer from Disney Fever so I totally understand. You're definitely going to have a great time!

Lauren, I don't see a reason to change a thing! Unless you'll be there while they're still doing Harambe Nights; then you might want to add that! Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Enjoy!

I feel your pain. I could only get some time off for a 4 day trip in a couple of weeks. I have soooo much crammed into those 4 days and I keep adding more.

Day 1 - arrive at 930am, mini golf at fantasia gardens, evening at DHS with fantasmic dining package at hollywood brown derby
Day 2 - EMH morning at Epcot, afternoon swim at the resort, evening at Magic Kingdom
Day 3 - EMH morning at animal kingdom, DisneyQuest in the afternoon, Epcot world showcase in the evening with dinner at restaurant Marrakesh and illuminations dessert party
Day 4- EMH morning and afternoon at Magic Kingdom. Flight leaves at 9pm.

i need to tag this thread somehow so I can show my husband all the approval when his eyeballs pop out of his head...
I was so excited when i got the notice for Harambe...but - alas - it will be over before we arrive. Maybe they'll bring it back sometime.

Or maybe you need to stretch out your vacation so you can include Harambe Nights!

My trip is a year away and I have already told my family we will be celebrating our 1 year countdown with a party. I know people that would look at me and think I'm crazy, but the heck with them. We had to cancel our trip this June due to me receiving a Quadruple heart By-pass in January. This will be my miracle trip. I can't put a price on our Disney Vacations and I might not be around to see another one. But I treat each and every one I take from now on like it's my last and go all out. I cry tears of joy everyday reading stories on boards and podcasts of people like me in love with a Mouse.:cool1:pixiedust::worship::rotfl2:

Just returned from PARADISE, AULANI!:dance3::beach:

For the last eight months, researching, planning, sometimes at 5AM before work, picking up GREAT tips from Diser's!!!

WAS SO WORTH IT!:cool1:

Can't wait for our "first" childless trip, 5 day trip and first time seeing Holiday Decorations in WDW early December! YIPEE! :yay:
