I have 26 2010 points remaining from my 2010 allotment of points. I thought I could bank them by the end of the year. My use year begins in February. I have not banked them, so have I lost them?
Grrr...my own fault. I am still new at using DVC, have made only one DVC trip so far. I'm thinking I lost them if I am understanding correctly. Someone here can advise me I know. :confused3

You need to bank during the first 8 months of your UY. You could try and rent them or borrow from next year and go to WDW now!!! :thumbsup2

As disneynutz said, you could try to rent them. It's better than just letting them expire.

As a tip, if you check the official DVC Member site and click on "My Points", the first thing that comes up is how many points are bankable and what the deadline is. I've found it to be a very good reminder.

There have been many posts regarding a one time foregiveness for missing the banking window

I think you need to go on vacation in January.:goodvibes

Before contacting MS, make sure to weigh the pros and cons of using this "one time only exception" for only 26 points.

If you can't take a January trip yourself, and aren't sure how to rent on your own, there is also David's DVC Vacation Rentals that you might want to consider. (He is a sponsor of this board.)

Or there could be a DVC Member out there who may be able to make use of your points and you can transfer them over to their account, which imho, is an easier & less worrisome option than renting. Check out the stickies atop the Rent-Trade Board on how to go about posting points for transfer or points for rent.

Best wishes & hope that you'll find a solution that works out well for you! :goodvibes

I highly recommend calling Member Services and asking them to bank your points. I would ask them for a one time exception to bank your points. I have forgotten many times to bank my points and Disney has granted me "one time exceptions" probably 4 times. I think you might have some success doing this. Best of luck to you.

Call Members Services and beg for them to let you bank them, just this one time, please!!!! They will probably let you. Just be super sweet and take all the blame for forgetting....Good luck

As another poster said, I would think twice before asking for a "just this one time" exception on only 26 points.

Member services is usually pretty helpful with this type of situation. Good luck.

If you call operations they may help you since you are new to this, it happened to me also!
