I booked an ADR at Chef Mickey's for 7am. Yes, i said 7 am. It was between 7AM and i think 10 or 11 AM. Being that I wanted to be at the parks early, i made the decison for me and my DBF to arrive at 7AM. DBF is NOT happy. :confused3 :rotfl2: Now, i think i am regretting this decision because i forgot to take into account the fact that I actually have to travel to the CR. This means I would have to get up at 6AM, right? Should I change my ADR to make it later? How do i get to the CR from POR ( where we are staying..)? How long would it take? Is it really crowded at 7AM?

No! Go for it! It will be a long day for you but you will have a great start with Mickey and the restaurant will not be really busy that early! Then go to the Magic Kingdom and have a wonderful day!

That is early and unless your both earlybirds on vacation, I would say cancel. I remember making a couple of 8:30 and getting lots of complaints.

I'm an early bird up every morning at 5 whether I'm on vacation or not. The rest of my family, if I'm lucky are up and dressed by 10.

Lot of times I end up having breakfast while they sleep.

I dont think I could make an ADR that early, especially if I have to travel to the resort!

To get their you will have to either A, take a bus to the MK & walk to the CR, or B, take a bus to the MK & monorail to the CR, or C, take a bus to anywhere else & then take a bus to the CR, or D, take a cab to the CR. The cab will be the fastest.

You will need to give yourself AT LEAST 45 minutes using Disney , probably more, (no telling how long it will take for a bus to arrive, etc). So unless you are a FAST mover in the morning, you are look at a 5:30am wake up, AT THE LATEST! Especially since there are 2 of you who will need to get up, get moving, get showered, etc.

Personally, I would change it.

I think you should keep it. You would do well to be done with breakfast and at the parks for opening. You can ride soo much more first thing.

We rode all of Fantasyland with no wait when we got there at opening last April. If you eat at 10 or 11, the parks will be so full & lines will have formed significantly by the time you arrive. Unless you are going at the slowest time of year, I wouldn't change a thing. Go to bed early the day before. After all, it's not like you're getting up for work, you're getting up to a magical day! :goodvibes

I would keep it...make it an early morning...eat breakfast...hit the park and get everything done before the rest of the crowds get there...then you can go back to POR...swim, relax, nap and maybe go have a nice dinner somewhere!

As far as getting to the CR from Port Orleans, officially I think you have to catch the MK bus, then get on the resort monorail (NOT the MK monorail!!) to the CR. Sometimes, though, I have heard of bus drivers dropping folks off at specific resorts, particularly when the bus is near empty early in the morning. Figuring for the worst, I would say that you want to be at your resort bus stop around 6:15.

If you have a car, by all means drive--it will only take ten minutes.

If you make it, it'll probably be fun, but expect some serious grief when that alarm clock goes off!!

HOw about taking the 11 AM reservation? That way it will be a late breakfast/early lunch. Hit MK early when it opens (maybe brings some granola bars with you for energy to make it to the late breakfast) race to the most popular rides before the lines start, then hop the monorail to Chef Mickey's. This will rejuvinate you for more rides. Then late afternoon return to POR for the pool. My DBF doesn't eat breakfast so I find eating an early lunch saves us money.

I would make sure that the buses run early enough for you to get to the CR by 7am. You might want to consider taking a cab...it'll cost you a few bucks, but you'd get an extra half an hour of sleep. Also, the walk to the CR from the MK bus terminal is pretty short. It would probably take you less time to walk than to walk to the monorail station and ride the monorail to CR.

I second the idea of taking the 11am ADR. I think 11am is one of the best times to eat at WDW! Have a light snack and be at the park for opening. Just as the crowds are starting to thicken up and you have already hit a bunch of rides, you can stroll over to Chef Mickey's for a relaxing brunch!

that early you might be on a bus with just breakfast goers...when we took the mk bus he took us ( and the others going) to the cr after stopping at mk...just ask if that 's the right bus to get there and he'll probably say he will take you if he can

This is exactly what my family did and it worked out great. Also since we were one of the last families in the restaurant, my kids got more time with the characters.

Have fun,

Loralie
