I just got off the phone with a really nice CM at DD and I mentioned the excitment about the new possible discount coming out. She checked her email and she had one with a new offer coming. It is going to be $440 per adult for a 4 night stay in a standard Value room and this price would include a 5 day base ticket. Sounds like a great deal for someone.

Well let me know if I am doing this right.

If you are going in Value Season then the rack rate for the Value Resorts would be $77 a night. Total of $77 x 4 nights ($308) plus a 5 day Base ticket ($205.55 - including tax) - $513.55 (plus the tax on your room.)
So the savings would be $73.55. Nice, but nothing like free dining.

Wonder if they would give TWO 5 day base tickets? That would make it much more appealling! ::yes::

Or for value season? Guess that would leave me out?

Kelly :confused3

She said at the value resorts. I didn't get a time frame she just said it was a new offer.

Guess we will just have to wait and see...it will be exciting either way!

Kelly :)

And I will lay money for those rates it double occupancy so solo travelers like me don't get quite as good a deal.

Well, we are determined to stay at CSR this time. We didn't want to go with a value resort this time. If the only code they issue is for a value resort, then it does me no good. I will not change down to a value resort without a lot of discussion with my honey. I really want to stay at a nicer hotel this time. Maggie

The $440 per person would only be a deal if that includes dining. $308 + tax for room is $343 + tickets $205 each plus $35/day*4 dining=$140/person totals to $1,034 vs $880 a savings of $154 or $38/day which is roughly buy 1 dining package get one free.

Same here. I have always stayed off site or at a value and decided to upgrade to a mod this time. I really don't want to change, but money talks, so we'll see. :confused3

$440 pp for 4 nights at a Value Resort is no bargain if it's for Value Season. The current price is $762 at DisneyWorld.com for 2 adults at POP std. view, Dec. 1-5 w/ 5-day MYW Base tickets. The only way it would be a bargain would be if the offered the MYW dining with it. Current cost for the same package as above w/MYW dining is $1042.

Also, the chances are very good that a similar discount will be available at the Moderate and Deluxe resorts if it is offered at all. So, those of you who are planning trips to include stays at those resorts will probably see some sort of savings too.

Well, for the dates I'm looking at in November (12-17) I'm coming up with Standard, not Value, rates.
$99 per night = $441.54, or $220.77 per person
5 night base MYW ticket with tax = $205.55 (from allearsnet.com price list)
Total per person, two adults, double occupancy is $426.32.
So $440 pp/do is not a great deal - and if one's dates DO fall in Value Season pricing, it's even worse ($343.42 for the room, or $171.71 per person, plus $205.55 for each 5 day base MYW pass = $377.26 pp/do) unless it includes something we're not being told about.

I just plugged in my dates for 2 adults (3rd week Oct) 4 nights with a 5 day base and it came up $860- That is $20 less than this supposed "deal". I sure hope that isn't it.

On another thread, a person reports that it will not be free dining, but most likely discounted dining.

I did the math (on that thread also), and half-price dining for 2 adults comes out to $899, which is very close to $440 x 2 = $880.....

That is my guess...

well, if that is true, I'll just end up keeping my AAA room rate. Half price dining
would save me $75, but my room rate savings are about $66 (includes tax). On the other hand, if I could add half price diining to my AAA room rate.....now we're talking.

I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Personally, I don't think that we have the whole "answer." Guess we will just have to wait until Disney releases the info to know all of the details and whether this is a "deal" or not.
I do think that we may be missing something key to the new discount package. ::yes::

I agree and I'm not thinking about it too much! If it is a great deal and I can apply it to my current ressie then I'll be one happy camper! If not, then I'm still goin' to DISNEY WORLD
