Actually, the CM acted as if she didn't know what to call it. Here's the story:
I called earlier this evening to book a grand gathering. (I needed 3 rooms at POP, but for the sake of everyone reading this I'll just talk about my package for DH, DD & I.) While the CM was preparing my POP quote she said, "Something unusual just popped up here . . . hmmmm. . . Let me go ahead and quote your Pop Century reservation, and then I'll tell you what this says." She types away for a bit and quotes me a price of $2086.71 for a 6-night stay, in a std view at POP, 2A, 1C(12), 7-day ph, with dining. (Just as I had expected, it was rack rate.) Then she says, "But for only $47 more, you can get a std view room at Caribbean Beach!" She went on to explain what a great deal this was, (etc, etc, blah, blah, blah), and that the $47-dollar difference in the price would make up for the frig rental I would have paid oop at POP. I agreed and booked it.
The price I was quoted for the CBR upsell is $2134.23. I priced the same package online a few minutes ago (CBR, std view room, 6 nights in Sept, 2A, 1C(12), 7-day ph, and dining), and the rack rate total is $2536.47. It appears that I've been given 40% off the room portion of the package!
The overall savings is $402.24 . . . all in all, it's not too shabby.
Here's the only problem: (Please don't roll your eyes at me.
I really don't want this to be my final offer. I REALLY want free dining at POP for my entire gathering of 8. I've already told my SIL that if free dining is offered to Disney VISA holders soon, and IF the offer includes the value resorts, then we might get to visit WDW for about $1500.00 (plus tips, airfare & misc). That's about $525 less than I was quoted for her CBR package stay with the 40% room reduction. So....in order to avoid a possible family feud, I am offering up my free dining "rain dance" now.
"Oh Come out, come out, wherever you are, Free Dining! I want to see you now!"
