So I finally caved and got my son an IPod, and I think I've broken it.

While away on vacation, he plugged it into my SIL's computer to charge. He remembered to grab it right as we were walking out the door to leave for home. I said "Just unplug it... it will be fine."

It worked the whole way home. He plugged it in last night to recharge it here, and now it won't work. It's "corrupted," and when I tried to restore it, I got a message that said it was unable to be restored. I've tried unplugging and replugging it, and all the other things the little popups keep telling me to do, but to no avail.

I am so technologically challenged. I so do not know how to fix this. :sad2:

Have you tried rebooting it? Hold down the menu key and the middle button at the same time.

dont forget it comes with a 1 yr warranty. My sons quit working for no reason...wouldnt even turn on. I took it to the Apple store and the back cover had an indention like it was hit. This messed up the hard drive. They sent us a brand new one.

They also told me to get a hard case to carry it around it to help protect it because the hard drive is real sensitive.

If the interactive help does not fix the problem, just call Apple and they will replace it no problem. They come with a 1 year warranty. My husband's stopped working a couple of weeks ago, and they replaced it with no problem at all.

eeeewwwww you are in troubbbbbbbbllleeeeeeee
I am SOOOOOoooooooo telling on You !!!

I hope it is fixable :)

also from now if you get it to work, remember to unplug it from the USB port by closing the system that is open on the PC. there is a little hook looking thingy in the bottom corner by your clock that comes on anytime anything is hooked into your USB

Same here, one of ours broke and we couldnt fix it. It was corrupted as well and we got it replaced for free. Don't worry you're not technologically challenged. We're both IT junkies and we couldnt fix it lol!! :rotfl:

Yeah I broke mine as well, still under warranty and I got a new one. Try that.

Well, I've tried it all. Looks like DS will be getting a new one.

I'll try not to break the next one. :rotfl:
