I think I booked the wrong view for WL.

I should have done my research better before booking. Now that I am getting close to my online check in date I am discovering that CYV isn't better than WV. I would rather have a chance at seeing the top of fireworks and the CR than maybe the pool or WLV. I tried calling and of course there isn't any WV available now. Argh! I will keep trying because I know things change but am I going to be sorry with the CYV? First time staying WL so I don't know what I'm in for. DH is sad that we are not staying Poly but WL is way cheaper. Can't afford CL either so that's not an option. what do I do?

I LOVE the CYV at WL. It is the best IMO. It isn't very likely that you will see the fireworks from a woods view, but even if you did, it is only the high fireworks. You will still need to go see them elsewhere. This is nice if you have woods view as a small fringe benefit, but I wouldn't book my room based on this.
Also, if they start the construction during your stay your WL woods view could become noisy construction view. meanwhile, the CYV is beautiful looking over the lovely landscaped courtyard and pool area. i don't think that you will be disappointed at all!

I wouldn't panic. We were unexpectedly upgraded to Courtyard view at WL. I loved watching and listening to the Electrical Water Pageant each evening. I loved Wilderness Lodge and getting the boat over to Magic Kingdom. I'm sure you will have a fantastic time.

Thank you both for your quick replies. I feel better. I know there are no guarantees in what you will or will not see but I was starting to worry after looking at the pictures. I guess it's just me wanting to make this the best trip ever like always. I know I won't be disappointed, I mean, we ARE staying Deluxe. It's just our first time and our other Deluxe resorts set the bar pretty high - AKL, BC and Poly.

On our last trip we upgraded last minute to a CYV and unfortunately there was pool construction that was supposed to be finished prior our arrival and scaffolding up along part of the building that was never disclosed to us prior. While that was a negative, we found positive in the fact that we could see the fireworks from our bed and the water parade from our balcony.

We had a woods view the prior trip and we were unaware we could see the fireworks from our room until the last night! I wasn't on disboards at that time and just didn't realize the fireworks were that close.

All the above is absolutely true . We've been in rooms with both views, multiple times. The fireworks COULD be seen, barely, from the WV Rooms around 6020. But that was years ago - and the trees kept growing . And yes, after Sept, if the construction of the cabins start with access roads from the North and South? A CYV is probably your best bet, in terms of noise.

Love the courtyard view. The inner courtyard is my fav. And from our balcony could watch the Electric Water Parade.

In 2011, we were upgraded at WL from WV to CYV and we had a group of 7 rooms. Everyone of our 7 rooms with the upgraded CYV was fantastic. I am now spoiled and couldn't imagine going back to WL without CYV. If I remember correctly, it could be either inner courtyard or facing the Villas. I would highly recommend asking at check in for inner courtyard view. You will not be dissappointed!
