We stayed at AS Music this past weekend. I, by no means, am extravagant, but I like nice things. I was not expecting a palace. I knew the rooms were small, so that was no biggie. The one book I read that talked about not opening the bathroom door if someone was on the toilet or you'd break their knee caps was not exaggerating at all.

When we arrived, the tv did not work since someone had taken the cable for the cable. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, and hung (for two days, mind you) with the cover exposing it, despite a call to maintenance. The tv was fixed after we left for the evening, so it was not really an inconvenience.

There were no little shampoos or conditioners, which even though I never use them, for some reason I missed them. Go figure. The "body wash" in the dispenser stayed empty the whole time we were there.

There were no towels at the pool, you had to bring them from your room, then call housekeeping for replacements, instead of being the other way around.

To be frank, I have been in nicer Holiday Inns (Sunspree Kid Suites for instance). I know it is a VALUE resort, and it was convenient, and I did like all of the over-sized embellishments adorning the buidlings. I know the bus service was handy most of the time, and it was a Disney property, but I cannot help but feel a tinge of disappointment. Like I said, I don't know what I was expecting.

It did have a "fun" atmosphere, though. So, are there any moderate resorts that have that same type of "fun" atmosphere? My impression of them (and please, let me know if I am wrong!) is that they are a little too grown up for me.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Sorry for your troubles. DH and I never had a problem when we were at ASMu for our last trip. Everything was just perfect. Oh yeah, we did have one problem, the bus to the AK took 45 minutes to arrive, but we still managed to make our PS to the RFC 5-10 minutes early. :o

So far we have been very lucky at our three AS stays.
So far, so good for us.
We have had better service and treated better at AS than CSR and POR combined.

If you are looking for fun atmosphere at a moderate how about Port Orleans French Quarter. The pool is fun and the the statues around are very whimsical. I felt POFQ was playful yet very charming.

Before we stayed at ASMo, I did my homework on it. I did some research to see what ASMO has to offer. So we knew what was to expect...no dissapointments here. The atmosphere I must say is fun to look at. At ASMo, the atmosphere was very disney. The service was superb and everything in the room was working perfect. It is definitely not a palace, but we were treated like a royal!

Shells9~ I do agree with you about the other resorts being "too grown up" looking. We stayed at ASMo and LOVED it! My mom (52) also loved it. We looked at some of the other resorts and they just had that "stuffy" atmosphere to them. They were all beautiful resorts, just not for us. We felt more at home staying at the ASMo. It also felt more Disney to us. BTW, we had a great stay at the ASMo. Good service by all!
Can't wait till Nov. to stay again!:D

We'll be there again in May, so we'll see how it is then.

Thanks everyone!
