We stayed at AS Music this past weekend. I, by no means, am extravagant, but I like nice things. I was not expecting a palace. I knew the rooms were small, so that was no biggie. The one book I read that talked about not opening the bathroom door if someone was on the toilet or you'd break their knee caps was not exaggerating at all.
When we arrived, the tv did not work since someone had taken the cable for the cable. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, and hung (for two days, mind you) with the cover exposing it, despite a call to maintenance. The tv was fixed after we left for the evening, so it was not really an inconvenience.
There were no little shampoos or conditioners, which even though I never use them, for some reason I missed them.
Go figure. The "body wash" in the dispenser stayed empty the whole time we were there.
There were no towels at the pool, you had to bring them from your room, then call housekeeping for replacements, instead of being the other way around.
To be frank, I have been in nicer Holiday Inns (Sunspree Kid Suites for instance). I know it is a VALUE resort, and it was convenient, and I did like all of the over-sized embellishments adorning the buidlings. I know the bus service was handy most of the time, and it was a Disney property, but I cannot help but feel a tinge of disappointment. Like I said, I don't know what I was expecting.
It did have a "fun" atmosphere, though. So, are there any moderate resorts that have that same type of "fun" atmosphere? My impression of them (and please, let me know if I am wrong!) is that they are a little too grown up for me.
Thanks for letting me vent!
