I think Disney stole my idea

I know this sounds crazy, but I'm really serious about this. A few years ago, if not more, I was on another disney fan site in their rumor section very similar to this. I had a propensity to play practical jokes and I made up this ride called the missing link. To make a long story short, almost everything I described this ride was going to be is very, very, very similar to Expedtiton Everest. Now I'm not one to be paranoid, but I wonder if there were any imagineers reading that and took it as their own.

It really was so similar I find it hard to believe that it was just a coincidence.

You're right---it sounds crazy. :smooth: How many years ago was this? Clearly the ride had been in the works for a long time before they started building it. And what elements of your idea were so unusual and so directly "copied" that you would lead you to this?

This just say all that needs to be said!! OH OH OH I wanted to carxe a picture into a mountain aloooong time ago why did they beat me to it.

stemikger-

I'm sure that this is all just a misunderstanding. When you meet with the Board of Directors next month, just make sure to mention this to them. They will proably immediately rename the attraction in your honor.

I wonder if stemikger is really PaulT from the long ago days of r.a.d.p. -- nah, can't be. He would have written an article about this long ago.

Ah yes -- PaulT -- the king of conspiracy theories. My favourite was his assertion that he had invented the idea of going to a store and using a computer terminal to purchase items through an "online" catalogue. Of course, Disney stole the idea from him.

Actually, a couple of years ago, I had suggested to Disney {got the usual, "sorry, we do not except ideas from ordinary slobs like yourself, and we will erase this e-mail at once"} that they use one of the resort channels on the room TVs, to show daily menus at all the sit down restaurants to make it easier for folks to make a priority seating for a restaurant that offers something they would enjoy. :mickeybar :drinking1 :drinking:

1) I think you might have something here.
2) Sounds like they could have stolen your idea(s).
3) I would run out and get myself a lawyer.

(LOL, maybe)

OMG, PaulT!!!

You just caused me to have some wild RADP flashbacks... :earboy2:

Just an update folks. I just hired a lawyer and after reviewing my case, he says I have a 99% chance of winning. He can't believe how solid the case is. He says Disney will probably settle because they know they will never win such a solid case. My lawyer is proposing that the ride be named after me and that I will get to charge a seperate admission and collect all the proceeds.

That is all of an update for now. My nurse is calling me becuase it is time for my medication.
