I have been doing Atkins since 7-7 and I have beenn following the program VERY well!
It has not been hard and I have been losing weight or inches every week.
BUT, the first week, my Dr. took me off of my diuretic for high blood pressure. I stalled in my weight loss for 2 weeks!
I lost 3.5 pounds in my first week and then nothing the second week (but lost inches).
At the end of my second week, I got my period so I must have been holding even MORE water before that.
At the end of my 3rd week, I had lost 1.5 pounds for a total of 5 pounds. Yeh!!!
At the end of my 4th week, I have lost 2 more pounds, but then guess what I got only 18 days since my last one? My period again!
Awwww, the joys of perimenopause!
So I must have been holding water AGAIN last week!
This is nuts. 7 pounds in 4 weeks is certainly nothing to sneeze at, but it is so hard not to compare myself to my fellow Atkins Classmates (those who started the same time as I did). I have still not lost the 8 pounds that would be 10% of what I need to lose.
But I AM losing - weight and inches. So I am usually happy.
But sometimes it is just hard - especially when your body seems to be against you.
I am still sticking to 20 grams of carbs, but started to add nuts and seeds and maybe some berries this week. I really needed a little more variety.
I really AM fine, but sometimes I have these little lows. And I know that you all understand.
Thanks!
