I swear I don't have an accent!

My SO was playing back a video of the family on a recent weekend trip. I heard my voice, but I swear I don't sound that southern. I think he dubbed my voice for someone else's voice.

When you hear your voice, do you swear it's someone else speaking too?

I would never be able to pick out my voice, because I don't think I sound anything like I do when its played back to me. Now I sound so old......I'm not old!

When I worked at the tech company and answered the phone, the new franchisees would often ask if I was also in Baltimore where the Corp. office is located. When I replied that I was in Texas, I often heard "I thought so"

I don't have an accent, either. Not sure how they knew

I am sure you would think I have an accent.. I caught myself the other saying something like.. I think you should call your sistah....eek... we need to find out r's in Bahsten.....although I would guess I would think you had an accent and I do not... LOL

i caught myself doing that too!! i was giving directions to some friends who were driving in from out of state and i told them to bang a left at on this street and look for the pahking laat.

My SIL is from Massachusetts. When her dad wants to totally confuse me, he'll speak with a thick Boston accent, making his r's sound like ah's (Haaahvaahd), and his o's sound like ah's too (Bahston instead of Boston). I just get back at him by sounding more southern than Forrest Gump.

I can vouch that Mackey Mouse definately has an accent. Its like listening to a foreign language, almost. Add CarolAnnK to that list, another one with a strong Bahston accent.

Snuggles has a southern accent, I also did not understand what she was saying to me either. I would just sort of nod and grin, Snuggs being so sweet I'm sure whatever she was saying was very nice!

Dan Murphy has a midwestern accent, and calls my John "Jan". It took me a little while to understand who he was referring to, I don't know any Jan's.

Gina2000 has a strong New York accent, I just crack up when she is on a rant about something.

I of course have no accent.

Southern accents are cute. I, of course, have no accent - although I've been told I do. I compare my voice to TV people. I think I sound like they do - dull.

I like my voice better when I hear it recorded (and hopefully what other people hear). When I hear it as I speak, it seems to deep and weird.

But both ways, no I don't think I have an accent. It seems to be a basic boring American accent... LOL. When I lived in Louisiana I had a bit of a southern accent, where I said my vowels differently but I lost that after a few years of living in Tx. (and no, I don't talk country)
