I Still Miss My Mother

I lost my dad 10 years ago during my freshman year in college. I still find it hard to believe he's not here. He had so much life, how could he be gone? In my dreams he's still alive and I'm a teenager. I guess we never get over wanting our parents, especially our mothers. I'm a nurse and I can't count how many times elderly patients cry for their mom. It breaks my heart.

I don't know what your beliefs are but somehow I believe we will be with our loved ones again. I'm crying right now thinking of it. Take care of yourself and remember tomorrow is a new day and you can remember the good times with your mo

Oh...I surely understand how you feel, having lost my Mom nearly 2.5 years ago. Hardly seems like I could have survived all this time without her near me. The only "up" side to my Mom's passing is that I no longer have fear of dying. The other night I dreamt of her & when I woke up, I felt happy to have seen her & hear her voice in my dreams & then it just brought so much pain too because I don't get to hear her everyday anymore.

Wish there were magical words to help you through your lonliness. If there were, I'd say them to myself too!

It's especially hard around the holidays. :grouphug:

Thanks for all your wonderful replys and wishes. Hugs to everyone who has also suffered a loss...
