there will be me and hubby and our 3 kids ages 12, 10, and 8. I can;t decide if we should get 2 ajoining rooms or get the family suite at the All Star Music. I already have a fridge on hold from a fridge swap if we need it. PLEASE some one help. We are flying in, so we won't have a car. I wish there was a toaster oven swap. that would be great. Help!!!

Have you looked into getting 1 room in POR (which is a MOD) but
does allow 5 in a room (has trundle bed).
I heard that many familes of 5 go that route it may be a cheaper
way to go than a suite or adjoining rooms at a Value.
Plus it comes with a Fridge in the room for no additional cost.
Also, I saw a microwave in the Cafateria which many people were using.

The mid value resort is a good idea but if you are getting two adjoining value rooms at a reasonable enough rate, it could be worth having two rooms just for the fact that you have two bathrroms, two TV's etc. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful vacation

Not sure if this is important to you or not ... but without any codes ... an ASMu Family Suite costs about the same as two adjoining rooms (prefered or standard) at the All Starss ... my vote would be for the suite - queen size bed in a separate bedroom complete with a second TV, three pull out beds in the living room (one per kid) ... lots of space to lounge around when they are in "couch position" and no fighting about sharing beds and who sleeps where after a long day at the parks! The kitchenette and two bathrooms are pluses too.

THe mods only have double beds, one bathroom, one tv, and no kitchenettte.

Go to the rent/trade board on this site and check it out. You could get a villa
with plenty of space AND a kitchen for sometimes half of the rack rate for that
same room. It's worth a try. I've done it several times and it's quite a savings.
You have to read the thread on it so you know all that is involved before taking
the plunge. Good luck and have a wonderful Disney vacation!

Just an FYI


For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Get the family suite. The last time we went with our children they didn't have them so we had two connecting rooms, it was nice but with the family suite you get adult privacy plus a kitchen like area. This time we are going deluxe, but if we were going to all stars it would definately be a family suite. Enjoy your holiday!
