My sister told me about this great plan to get you running a 5k in 9 weeks.
I haven't "moved" in years so it was a little rough that first day but my dh and I are doing the program together so he is a great motivator. It also got my dd8 interested too. She rides the bike while we are on the treadmill. Hopefully we'll see some results soon!

Good job! Don't think you must keep up with the whole program each week. It is ok to repeat a week if you feel that it is getting too difficult. You don't want to become injured, so do what you can and repeat if needed.

You can do this! Have fun too!

cyber high five!!

take care of yourself -- and don't skip the stretching afterwards...it will become your favorite time ;)

Good luck! I haven't tried the C25K myself but the people on the boards all seem to like it so I hope you reach your goals.

I'm glad you posted this - I didn't think about that. I decided I'm going to walk a 1/2 marathon but I might wait until 2011 so that I can have a solid program in place and lose some weight, so now I'm thinking about running a 5k. But...I'm not sure about doing it in this time frame since I have 80 pounds to lose. I've been reading Marathon for Mortals and that's what's making me rethink my plan and get in better shape before I train for one of these.:scratchin

Best wishes... I started it last year... but life keeps getting in the way of my WDW marathon dreams..... maybe this year will be different.

When I looked at the first week, I thought, "How easy. All I have to do is run for 60 seconds at a time!" OMG...I have a lot of weight to lose and I didn't realize how out of shape I am! I have been on the tredmill all week but I can't complete the first week's scheduled routine. I am going to keep at it until I can completely finish the Week One routine. I didn't get discouraged and I am still going strong. I need to get healthy! Once I can complete the full routine, I will move on to the next week.

Good luck to all the other "Couch to 5k-er"!

I love this program. I used it in 2003 to get back into shape and found it extremely rewarding.

I found it last week, tried a couple days of week 1 and have "started" this week. W1D3 tomorrow. It gets easier. I won't hesitate to repeat a week if I am struggling. I want to jog/walk a 5K at the end of April.

You can do it. Just keep coming back.

I did W2D2 today. The change from 60 to 90 seconds was really noticable on D1, but not so much today. I covered the TM display with a towel this time. Too much counting. I really like it so far.
