I seem to be shrinking; how tall are you?

I was always 5'9 1/4....dd#1 was about 5'8 1/2.
She is now taller than I am, so I guess since I am "a decade or more" above 40, there goes my 1/2+ inches. I am now the 2nd shortest in my family!!! :rotfl2:

I used to be (or claim) I was 5' 2" but I was recently measured and am 5' 3/4".

Not sure if I shrunk or if I had delusions of grandeur. :rotfl2:

My 12 year old daughter is 1/4" shorter than I am. But not for long.

Holding firm at 5' 1/2". I'm proud of that half-inch! :lmao: I'm sure I will shrink down to less than 5' in the next 15-20 years- my brother makes fun of me for being so short. He and my dad are both right at 6'. No fair- they got all the tall genes in the family!

My mom used to be 5'3", but she is now only about 1/2" taller than me and a couple inches shorter than my DD. She has osteopenia and has shrunk 2" in the last 15 years or so.

Not shrinking yet at age 49; however, my mom went in one year and had lost an inch. That's a big warning flag for osteoporosis of the spine. Yep, she's got it. You may want to get that checked out.

That's exactly what I was thinking. My Mom went for a physical and had lost 2" of height. She had osteoporosis also-and it was so severe that her doctor called her "on the weekend!" Mom was almost proud of that part. Because of my age and family history, I always request them check and tell me my height at check-ups. So far no change since I reached my max height of 5' 4 1/2" over 45 years ago.

4 11" and a 1/2. Darn that half inch, I'm not even five foot, at the ripe age of 19 years old :(

I never noticed it until I was in my mid 50's, but, I decided to deny any thoughts of it. What I did notice was that my inseam pant measurement that I had all during my adult years was now dragging the ground. Pants, that is, really mind out of gutter please!

Anyway, I finally decided to listen to the numbers now that I am 65 and, how about that, a full 2 inches shorter then before.

Personally I believe that aging should be outlawed. I mean, is it fair that you do whatever you do, all your life and then, for no reason the body just starts to fall apart. Who thought up that trick. It isn't even necessary for the "dying" process. One can just up and drop dead without every single organ in the body setting you up for it. Totally unnecessary. :rotfl:

5'11.5" and 43 (almost 44) years old female. No shrinkage yet :). In fact a few people have asked me if I have grown lately, lol. Nope, just lost a bit of weight.

Almost 25 and still about 5'7 3/4" or 5'8", depending on the measurement. My mom and dad both stood at 5'9" and they have both shrunk. I may be a bit taller than my mom now (age 59) and am over an inch taller than my dad (age 68).

The only thing that I was able to pull positive about this entire situation was that I am not longer overweight, I am now to short for my weight. That's a much better problem. What am I supposed to do about how tall I am. If I'm short, I'm short...deal with it.

I've shrunk about an inch.
In my younger days I was 5'8".
Last measurement a few weeks ago at the MD I was 5'7".

I'm 5' 1/2" at age 49, but at my last Dr. visit I was 5'1", so I guess I grew half an inch! :rotfl2: I asked the nurse to measure me again because I thought she made a mistake, and it came out at 5'1". I think there was something wrong with their measurement scale, but I'll take the 5'1". No shrinkage yet!
