I was checking out at Walmart today, and who should walk in but Willie Nelson! He walked right by me! I couldn't believe it! If I hadn't been standing there with my mouth hanging wide open maybe I would have had the presence of mind to ask for an autograph.

So what about the you? Any close encounters of the famous kind?

Not me but my stepfather ran into Rodney Dangerfield (literally) at an Atlantic City casino. He was coming out, my stepdad was going in and BAM!!! He said he could not have been nicer.... a very down to earth guy.

I'm not a huge fan of country music, but I do adore Willie Nelson. I think I would have been too starstruck to have said anything to him either! :)

I've run into a host of celebrities in my lifetime. I met Dustin Hoffman in New York, he was eating dinner at a restaurant in Little Italy that my husband, sister and I were also eating in. I ran over to him to see if it was him, and he was VERY gracious, considering he was eating and he had this strange woman staring at him with her mouth hanging open. :teeth: My sister made a fool of herself by telling him she admired his work in "Scarface", confusing him with Al Pacino, LOL.

Arnold Schwarznegger (sp?) and Maria Shriver and their kids and MIL (a Kennedy) were in line behind me at the grocery store here in D.C. He is much smaller than he appears on screen, and she is much prettier than she appears on TV. They were also very nice.

Lets see, I've also met Donny Osmond (very nice gentleman), Cher & Tom Cruise (they were dating once for about a minute, years ago - he is very short in person, she is just, ummmm, Cher!), Warren Beatty and Annette Benning (they were at a political fundraiser that I was also at - very "normal" acting, talking about their kids), the figure skaters Scott Hamilton, Katerine Witt and Kristi Yamaguchi (Scott very nice, Katerina nice, Kristi not so nice).

But my biggest star trip is John F. Kennedy, Jr., who was a patron in a sports bar I used to work at in NYC. He would come in for bottled water or juice, usually in his rollerblades. He was positively the most handsome man I have ever laid eyes on, and just as much a gentleman. Plus he was a great tipper! :) I was so sad when he died, because I felt like I "knew" him, even though we only exchanged a few words over the ten times or so he was in the sports bar.

Willie Nelson was just performing at Universal Studios Orlando last night for the Mardi Gras celebrations.:)

Professional Wrestlers and Sports Figures are the only "famous" people I've ever met.

What's funny is that I've met several of them in Wal-Mart and K-Mart. LOL

Cool that you saw Willie! :)

Too cool! :)

Ruth Pointer of the Pointer Sisters lives around here and I've seen her in CVS pharmacy, Barnes & Noble Bookstore, she was in front of me in the drive-thru at McDonald's, and I saw her at the gyno's office. :) Actually, her DH was one part of the building team who built our house.

Willie Nelson in WalMart is just too cool! Very American. :p

Snoopy! Arnold was behind you in the grocery store?!?!?! I would have, I would have , I-I-I I don't know what I would have done! LOL! :p

JFK always seemed like a down to Earth guy. Dustin Hoffman? I love him! Almost as much as Arnold. ;) :p

Maggie....ROTFLOL!!! Tell us how YOU would act if you ran into Arnold...LOL!

I met Adam Sandler here in Manchester at a local restaurant that he used to work at and he and his family still frequent. My friend used to go out with him in high school and she introduced me. He was very pleasant and very happy to see her, he was just wonderful with her kids and gave us all autographs.

In the TRU in Times Square, I was standing right next to Christopher Meloni from "Oz" and "Law & Order" - very handsome guy, we exchanged smiles and that was it.

What is it about famous people and Wal Mart? I saw Jimmy Carter in a Wal Mart in Ellijay, Georgia.

My husband stepped on Joe DiMaggio (accidentally of course - we were in a huge crowd) outside game seven of the World Series when the FL Marlins won.

I have also seen Tom Cruise....scenes from Days of Thunder were filmed in a house a couple of blocks away from my college campus, so we spent LOTS of hours standing across the street waiting for a glimpse. We sang "You've lost that loving feeling" to him, and he did come over and shake lots of hands. (I managed to shake hands with him twice - once just wasn't enough, so I ran down the line of screaming girls and got another handshake. Ahhh, it was magic!)

About ten years ago we were visiting Atlantic City and we were on our way out of a casino when Jay Leno walked right past us. I remember he was smiling at everyone and he was wearing a blue denim shirt.

We sat a few rows behind George and Barbara Bush at a Sea Dogs baseball game in Portland, Maine. We've also seen Barbara Bush shopping in Kennebunkport, Maine. And more than once, we've been stopped in our car by local police and had to wait while George Bush's, (father and son), entourage passed by.

Willie sure does get around! My DH was ahead of him while golfing here in Ct. I think he had a concert nearby. DH let him go ahead of him. He was very nice and down to earth.

My in-laws saw Willie in Amsterdam last May. They were staying at the same hotel. He really does get around doesn't he!

I saw Steven Tyler from Aerosmith about 12-13 yrs ago at Caldor Department store near my home. (He lives a few towns away from where I live). He was behind us in the checkout line with his wife and a daughter. He was very nice to the kids in the store that were asking for autographs.
