Let me start by saying - I know that I do not know everything that was going on but I am going to have to say I have never been as appalled by the way parents were treating their children as I was at the MGM parade last week
we sat at the corner as the parade turned to go down Hollywood - we had a perfect shot as it came at us and then turned to go down the street - there was a couple next to us with a rented WDW double stroller - they placed it about 3 feet back from the line and the dad sat down in front of it with his camera - allowing their 3/4 yo DD to see the parade - the mom then STOOD in front of her about 5/6 yo DS to videotape the parade -
he told her he couldn't see and she ignored him, after several attempts to see (he was stuck in the stroller) he started to cry and begged her to move - she told him no - the dad turned around and told the kid "shut your hole!!!" My mom was next to the lady and scooted over and said here - why don't you move this way and then he can see - she said - "no he will get over it - he's fine" - the little boy continued to get more and more upset with both parents continuing to snap at him and tell him that he would just have to deal - the dad finally said to the mom - "Just ignore him and get the damn video!"
I guess the woman finally started to feel bad b/c she did try to turn her body and let him see -
I would love to try to give these parents the benefit of the doubt of what was going on but no matter how mad I am at my kids I would never speak to them in such a manner and certainly could never enjoy pictures or videotape I had taken at the expense of my child
