I met her last month in New York for a promotion for her book. We got the book already signed by being the first 50 people there. She came out to only do a meet and greet, not sign. She seemed so shy. People in front of me told her she looked different. I said the same thing and that she seemed quite calm. She remarked "well I dont have 8 kids running around me." I realize that, I felt she seemed almost serene relaxed. I really did not say too much after that, I got her to personalize the book to my son and I and told her we enjoyed the show.

Not sure what all happened with her family but I know how it is for people to only hear part of a story & judge someone ,so I won't go there. I love the show. I think they are like any other family out there. Imagine what the viewers would say if they could see our lives.

People need to remember that a lot of editting goes into every episode, they can edit anything to look a certain way and you don't have the whole backstory. If they want to make her look like the bad person, they can and will.

I don't watch the show, but I think some people forget the above about ANY show they see.

I must say in Kate's defense, I have noticed that Jon is very rude & sarcastic to her too. Not sure why most people choose not to see that. I don't think it's one sided.

I know everyone thinks that she seems mean, but I honestly see a lot of DH and I in her and her husband. We tease each other a lot, it's just how we are. No hurt feelings, nothing wrong, it's just how we are. I'll also say that I have six kids all day almost everyday and it is stressful. I see a lot of that in her too. So to me, she just seems real.
