I Saw Mommy Kissing Goofy Claus - Dec '09 - DAY ONE, FINALLY (2/20) - PG# 40

Oh My Goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am laughing so hard I have tears!!!!

That will be awesome! You have to make it and wear it loud and proud!

Oh...and just to clarify... I DO NOT LIKE THE YANKEES!!!!! The rest of the family does and Justin has brainwashed the children into liking everything he does! (Don't want this to sound nasty...just don't want anyone reading this to think the nasty rumor that I too like them!! LOL) Actually...he likes a football rival of the Pat's too! (The Dolphins!) You guys are meant for each other, huh?

Anyway, I now am even more excited to have that breakfast! It will be great! I won't tell him what to expect! But, he already knows you are a Sox fan. So, he will probably wear something Yankees that day just for that reason! So, be prepared! I think I will wear my Mr. Met shirt just to add to the anti-Yankee fun for the day!!!!

Okay, so I saw the pictures of your car posted on Erin's PTR and instantly thought of this (since I also know you are a bride to be)
il_430xN.84840796.jpg

I had a Yankees one for my wedding day, but I appreciate that you are a huge baseball fan and that you support your team. :) Anyway if you google "Red Sox Inspired Wedding Garter Set" You'll find some websites you can buy them from. Mine came with panties too (a thong).

Thought you would like them ;)

These are hilarious! If we had a Yankees set (which I would never do...maybe Mets) for our wedding, Justin would probably try to get me to wear it for luck on game nights!!! LOL

Ok...royal rumble update....

Justin says you better hope the Sox win in October or you won't want to see what is in store for you at breakfast!!!

Guys...this is getting a little out of hand!! LOL Keep it PG...there will be kids around!!

He says his shirt will say "What curse...the Red Sox just sucked for 80 years!"

We loved Earl of sandwich; but, I had run in to get Ashton a mac and cheese from the Puck....I ate it --It was so creamy and RICH (it was done w/rigatoni pasta-so ashton did not want it) the food coming out looked so good! So, either I think would be a good choice or you can do like we did order something from Earl and something from Wolfgang (since they are next door to one another--we sat outside on Earl of Sandwiches' patio...)

have a great day!

Funny enough when I was looking for a picture to post I saw that they have some rival team garters. :lmao: It was hysterical, the one I saw was half Yankees half Red Sox.

Love the artsy fartsy shirt! I am not a baseball fan. GO STEELERS!!! but that shirt is cute, good job.

Thanks :goodvibes I never got into Football. So - GO NFL!!!

He wants to play hard ball huh? Looks like I am gonna have to come prepared! Are you aware that certain sports shops here in Mass sell "Yankee Hater" gear. Imagine if you will, the NY on a Yankees hat. Replace that with an HY. Justin will think, "hey she is a Yankee's fan, Erin was pulling my leg!" Then as we get closer - BAM - he'll notice it's not a Y... he'll ask "What is HY?" To which I will proudly proclaim YANKEE HATER!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Connie - I didn't know they were right next door to one another, how convenient! Madi likes that kind of mac & cheese, thanks for sharing!

I keep saying that I am going to make a To-Do list. I know it is early (65 days to go!!!) but I like to know what is waiting in the wings. I don't have a list made, but I was able to check one thing off today. That's pretty magical, huh? No list, but I am still checking things off -

During naptime I decided to grab Shamus and gander at the menus on allears.net. We both picked our appetizer, entree & dessert from the 11 ADR's I have made (granted some of these are buffet, so that made it easier to whip through the menus!). I then took the meal total, multiplied it by .065 (6.5% tax) and came up with a grand total. From there I multiplied that number by .18 (18% for gratuity) and then rounded that number up to the nearest dollar amount. So, being an obsessive planner I created a spreadsheet broken down in to 5 columns - RESTAURANT - BILL - TAX - TOTAL - TIP. I came up with $133 for our tips! My plan is to go to the Disney Store in Taunton or Braintree (both about 45-75 minutes away) and getting Disney Dollars in the denominations we will be needing. Then I will let Madilynn create an envelope for each restaurant and we will place our "allotted" tip in there. We will have extra on us, as these are my guesstimates.

Just when I thought I was rolling right along I was "corrected" in that you tip on the food total, not the total with tax. Well dang! I am not going to stress over a few dollars, let the tip be larger!

Madilynn & I went to story time at the library this morning and replenished her stock of borrowed books. She made a paper bag Owl puppet and is really proud of it! The rest of the day is unscripted, although there is that episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta on the DVR that is SCREAMING my name! Maybe I will get a tentative To-Do list started.

I hope everyone else is enjoying their Friday! :goodvibes

I just spent the last hour reading a thread regarding stolen strollers at WDW. I stumbled upon it while browsing new posts. It was like a car accident. I didn't want to look, but I had to take a glimpse. And glimpse I did! But I am glad that I did!

Shamus & I have discussed whether to take the Maclaren Volo or the Bugaboo Cameleon that we own. We decided that the Bugaboo was the front runner for comfort and maneuverability - but with a hefty price tag, we're hesitant (even though it cost me nothing - a friend traded it with my for my old Louis Vuitton purse. I'm not a big "name" person and was more than willing to "give up" my Louis for a stroller that glides on ice, so to speak!). I know for a fact that there will be a gazillion Maclaren strollers there and we will have to be sure to make ours "stand-out." So, we've opted to take the Bug. :sad2: Am I crazy, yes, but if you have read this far, you should already know this .

So here is my possible plans of action:
- Purchase a bike lock to thread through the rear tires
- Remove the front wheels
- Remove the seat fabric
- Hang a "poopy" diaper from the handle (diaper in a bag with choco pudding)
- I could leave it folded up, unless you know what you're doing, it is difficult to figure out

I just hate to think that there are people in The World, the Happiest Place on Earth!, that would maliciously steal a stroller. I can understand mistaken identity (another appeal of taking the Bug, it'll stick out) - but not outright stealing. Chances are if someone is stealing a stroller they more than likely have a child that will occupy it - great example you're giving MOM! :sad2:

Another day, another rant. Rant over... Please share your thoughts/experiences/tips.

I just love that you traded your Luis Vatton for a stroller, that is classic. the American way I tell ya.

I like all your ideas to keep your strolle safe. The poopy diaper thing is good, unless you have a desparate stroller thief willing to deal with poop. Too bad they don't come equipped with car alarms.

People who steal at Disney are not true Disney people, where's the love right?

Funny enough when I was looking for a picture to post I saw that they have some rival team garters. :lmao: It was hysterical, the one I saw was half Yankees half Red Sox.

I asked Justin and he said that yes...he wanted to invest now in a set for me to wear on game nights!! LOL He is CRAZYYYYYYY!

God forbid ANYONE think you are a Yankee fan! I am so ready for this breakfast!!!

Thank you...my sentiments exactly!

[COLOR="darkorchid"]This breakfast is almost the last day of our vacation and it is the one that I may be looking forward to the most! It will be a lot of fun!!

I read about the stroller thefts before we went too! We had no problems and for the most part most people to not!!! I would find a way to mark so you can identify it quickly.

Just so you know: YOU CAN NOT LOCK IT!, YOU CAN NOT REMOVE THE WHEELS!

the reason for this is where the large areas for stroller parking is there are CM's there organizing the stroller parking! so they have to beable to move them freely! which makes perfect sense when you see how they take care of things...

so, again the best tip I took for that was to mark the stroller because it may not be in the exact spot you left it in! I was part of a stroller swap and the girl who started it put an iron on on the hood. But, a great idea is to buy some ribbon of a few wild colors and tie it too your handles and in other places on the stroller so as not to be removed easily!

Good luck with your decision!

That is the great American way, isn't it :lmao: - People who steal at Disney are most def not Disney people! They are scum looking to make a buck. And if they are stroller savvy they'll know my Bug is a big ticket item. I will be sure to take every precaution possible to keep mine, mine!

I asked Justin and he said that yes...he wanted to invest now in a set for me to wear on game nights!! LOL He is CRAZYYYYYYY!

Buy the Red Sox one, don't show it to him and then every Yankees game - wear it! :rotfl2:

I too am REALLY looking forward to this breakfast, gonna be a GOOD time. Remind Justin that children will be present and we ARE in Disney :lmao:

I have read that you CAN run a bike lock through the two rear tires and that the CM will just tilt it forward and move it on its front wheels. I plan to attach something to the handle with zip-ties as they can not be removed by hand. I am sure that if someone is determined to steal my stroller, they will. But like I said, I'll do everything in my power to stop em!

I'm going to be reading about this Red Sox/Yankees breakfast meeting in the Orlando times arent I?

Why do we do this to ourselves? We look at menus and read reviews and get a game plan for where we want to eat. Then we sit ans stress and sweat waiting for park hours. Once the GLORIOUS hours are released we map out a concrete plan of eating when and where. We play it smart and have a couple back up plans waiting in the wings if need be. Then we countdown to our ADR day and when it comes we pull our hair out getting online/on the phone RIGHT ON TIME and plan our magnificent, award winng ressies and we hang up/log off with a sigh of relief.

Are we happy? Yes! Have we mastered the ADR's? YES!

Then why the heck do we go back poking, prodding and stalking around to alter our ressies? Drop one here, add one here - we all know the game - but why?!

My latest falter was tonight. I was reading my Unofficial Guide (2010, borrowed for the library, Cheap Chic!) when I got to the topic of breaking for naps. I had my ADR Master Plan mapped out with park hours and parade/fireworks times - but never once did I factor in nap time. I knew from the get-go that I had intended to get back to CBR to have Madi take a good 1.5 - 2.5 hour nap. Why hadn't I planned more adequately? GRRR! :headache:

Now, we may not be able to find world peace, but with your help, we can find a tentative plan to work for us - as always advice, criticism, and a down right slap in the face, are always welcome. I know I have already rambled on and on, but please, this next part is where I am seeking guidance.

Our Days:

DAY 1 - DEC 6 SUN (I won't bore you with some of the particulars, just the bits I am needing tweaking, assurance)
Arrive MCO @ 10:30, CBR @12:30 (allowing for run over time here, I know)
Predicament #1: Nap in room til 2/3PM and then head to DTD til 6PM then head to HS (EMH til 11P) for Osborne Lights (this is our only night to see them)
OR
Head to DTD til 3PM, back to CBR for nap til 6, then head to HS

Lunch will be a QS at CBR or DTD
Dinner at SciFi @ 8:15PM
Back to CBR and in bed by 11PM

DAY 2 - DEC 7 MON
This is our Magic Kingdom day (EMH til 11PM). We have a 8:20 ressie at Crystal Palace. The morning plan is to hit the Barbershop FIRST, then head over to Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown. Leave MK for Whispering Canyon Cafe (Ressie at 12:40).
Predicament #2: After lunch head back to MK for the 3PM parade, back to CBR after the parade for a nap, then back to the park by 5/6PM, Spectro is at 7, Wishes 8.
Is this good or does it need tweaking?

Dinner will be QS.
Back to CBR and in bed by 11PM

DAY 3 - DEC 8 TUES
This is our Epcot day (8A-9:30P). 8:10 Akershus ressie. Spend the morning doing Future world, maybe "touching" on World Showcase. Lunch Ressie at 12:40P for Coral Reef.
Predicament #3: After lunch do we head back to CBR for a nap, or wonder World Showcase and hope Madi naps in the stroller. World Showcase is more of an adult thing anyway and she wouldn't miss a lot, except the Santa's around the world... So lunch, nap til 4/5P then come back for World Showcase
OR
Lunch, World Showcase & Madi naps in stroller?

Dinner at Teppan Edo @ 6:20P

DAY 4 - DEC 9 WED
This is our Animal Kingdom (9A-8P) day, and by far the easiest... spoke too soon... it's got a predicament of it's own...
Breakfast ADR with Erin (LOVEMY3KIDDOS) at Tusker House @ 8AM
Safari first!!! Morning is WIDE open. Lunch will be a QS or Picnic in the Park. The plan is to ride Kali River Rapids (twice?) before heading back to CBR for a break.
Predicament #4: CBR for nap til 3, back to AK for MJJ Parade @ 3:45P
OR
CBR for nap after the parade?

Dinner at Yak & Yeti @ 7:30P

DAY 5 - DEC 10 THURS
This is the day that has me pulling my hair out! We are planning HS (9A-8P) for the morning and MVMCP (7P-12A, technically, but we can get in as early as 4P) for the evening. As it stands NOW:
Supercali breakfast at 8A. Grand Floridian to HS. Morning is open.
Predicament #5: I have doubled ressies... sort of. I could do both of them, but no one in their right mind would. SO - we either:
A. SciFi Lunch @2P, parade at 3, quick nap til 5, MK for MVMCP
OR
B. QS lunch, nap, come back for the parade, dinner at O'Hana at 5:05P, then MK for MVMCP
OR
C. QS lunch, nap, skip the parade, dinner at O'Hana at 5:05P then MK for MVMCP?

MVMCP til whenever, CBR for bed whenever!

DAY 6 - DEC 11 FRI
This is our last day, no predicaments here, unless I opt to skip the flight and live in Disney :cloud9:. We have Chef Mickey's at 9:30A. The day/morning/lunch is open. We need to catch the ME around 3:30/4P. So essentially, we can use this as an extra park day if needed.

Another day, another stressor! I thank you all for tagging along and helping along the way! I am a first time planner, second time visitor, so your help is GREATLY appreciated!!! :goodvibes

I guess when it comes to nap schedule you know Madi best. Is she the kind of child that conks out where ever she is when she's tired, or does she need a quiet room and a comfy bed?
Will you need a quiet room and comfy bed.
FOr me, not having any little ones to take to the world, I wouls allow myself several options for each day, kind of like what you have just posted, and then play it by ear and make the necessary adjustments while you are there.
Sorry I couldn't be more help to ya.

If Madi will sleep in the stroller I would let her sleep; esp. on your Epcot and AK days!
Because of EMH you MK day sounds great! What time does she nap at home I would try your best to keep about the same time to help prevent meltdowns; but, she will let you know when she is ready! For day 5 I like choice B & C...and would play it by ear to see exactly on weather to catch the parade or not! Ashton does not nap at home but at WDW he took two naps one late morning and in the afternoon. so WDW does change what they need.
great planning!
:wave2:

You are the only one to know if your child needs to nap or not, but I will say that the last time we were there (Oct 2006) is was very hot, like unusually so, so by late afternoon there were days when me and DH needed a little rest. I know this is going to sound nuts, and completely crazy, but would it be completely off the wall to kind of play it by ear?? I know, it's so crazy to have to let go a little bit and not have everything 100% planned and set in stone, but some days you may need the nap (you, Shamus, and Madi too) and some days you may not. It looks like you have every scenario planned for so why not just see how the day goes!?!?
