I saw a cat at Epcot at the beginning of September. I guess even cats need a vacation, right? :) I was walking with my 2 daughters from Mission Space (waiting for dh to get off ride) and we were heading toward Test Track to the bathrooms beyond there. I saw a cat walking over to the right in some shrubbery/seating area. My dds did not see it. My 5 yo thought I was teasing her, even though I insisted I really did see a cat! Has anyone else seen a cat at Disney, Epcot in particular? I don't know how it got in there without getting hurt.

When I was at the MK a few weeks ago, Splash Mountain kept shutting down when we were in line for a night ride. We got up to the loading area and it shut down again. The CM said that there was a cat loose in the Mountain, and it kept walking over the sensors, and they can't restart the ride until they do a walk-through to make sure the track is clear. The ride was up & running again in a few minutes and did not stop while we rode. We kept our eyes peeled for the cat, but didn't see it. My DD8 was pretty disappointed - she thought it would be really cool to see a cat in a ride!

We saw a whole family of cats at the Magic Kingdom. They were hiding in the bushes by Aladdin's Carpet Ride.

It was at EMH night and we were the only ones in that area and at first I thought I was seeing things. We were enjoying a treat from Aloha Isle and I saw one out of the corner of my eye, then another and another. My family finally believed me after they saw them, too. They must stay there all day and come out at night!

I just remembered, I also saw a kitten at Universal IOA near the Comic Strip Cafe this spring. We were eating lunch on the outdoor patio and there was a kitten in the bushes begging for food. We gave it some fries and then it went on to the family at the next table, and then circled around through the bushes to the other family there. It obviously was making its rounds for lunch!

Maybe that's why Disney has so few cat stars in their movies? They live in the theme parks instead! :rotfl:

Poor kitten. I'd have taken it. How cool to have a "disney cat"...

Seeing how big disney property is, do you think these are pets that people bring on vacation that somehow escape?

Now I"m going to be worrying over that little hungry kitten the rest of the day LOL

Please tell me there have been no cat sightings by the chinese restaurant in the WS.....

I will do you guys one better...I saw a rat, lol! Sitting on the wall outside of TT waiting for DH and the DCherubs to get off, it was about 8;45PM and chilly Oct. night. So I am sitting minding my own business and these 2 older couples are there talking women sitting men standing...this big gray rat comes out of the bushes and stands next to one of the women, they keep talking-it looks at them-then scuttles down the wall and across to where I am sitting and into the bushes! :rotfl: The couple did not notice it until it was half way across the walk and then they quickly jumped up and walked away! Didn't bother me, I had a few pet rats in my day!

One night while at the computer pool at Pop Century I saw a black and white tabby cat run by, I was concearn for the well being of the cat so I stopped a CM and told him about the cat, and he called animal control and they came out very quicklly and when they arrived I told her the direction I saw the cat took, they even asked me if the cat was bothering me, I told them no but I was more concerned for the cat being hurt, she just laughed and told me that alot of locals drop their cats off around WDW hoping someone will take them home, this was hard to believe but some will do strange things I guess.

Some people just make me sick.. drop their cats off thinking people will take them home???? Do they realize how hard it is to transport an animal by plane?

*sigh*

We saw a cat at the top of BTMRR in Feb. It really looked like she was supposed to be there. Funny :sunny:

Here's the pictures I took of the kitten begging for food at Universal. It didn't want to be touched, but it wasn't shy at all about crying for food, it even stood on it's hind legs and begged like a dog! I bet that cat ate better than a lot of housecats, it sure seemed to know what it was doing.

I saw a cat right by the counter service restaurant in Mexico. It was during evening EMH and there were hardly any people around. It was eating an order of nachos that someone had dropped! It was a very cute orange and white kitty. I felt kind of bad for it, it seemed terrified of people. When it noticed me even looking at it it darted off. It seemed like it may have been mistreated. A Disney park would not be a good place for a kitty to live.

Ya'll do realize they are not REAL cats... right? They are all animatronic. Same goes with all the deer, rabbits and ducks you see roaming the grounds.

I bet more would be done if they were dogs! Cats are easier to conceal on property than a dog would be. Horrible what some people do to animals!

If ANYONE ever sees that kitten that lyzziesmom posted at Disney I want her! I'm serious.. maybe staff would help catch her? I can arrange transport. Maybe there is a staff member at disney who loves cats and could help me. I can't bare the thought of her begging.. adn she's gorgeous. could place her so easily (I do cat rescue).. or I'd keep her. I just had my PD put to sleep and I"m catless for the first time in my life.

Any ideas, guys? I'm serious...

There are TONS of cats at the parks! When I first worked late at night I couldn't believe how many I saw. Most will stay out of the way during the day and then come out at night.
