I booked rountrip tickets from Corpus Christi to Orlando last Thursday when SW released more dates, the next day I checked their website and noticed the price was lower so I cancelled my first tickets and rebooked and saved $210, this morning I got up early and decided to check the SW website again and they had reduced the tickets even more so I cancelled my second tickets and rebooked again saving $600.

I'm trying to decide when we will use our $810 credit!!

I also have been checking my SWA reservations. Last night they were $2 lower a ticket, this morning our departing flights were $26 less each. So, I have a credit of $78! I will be rechecking to see how much more I can ding it down :teeth: !

Anyone want to post the process for cancelling a SW reservation, obtaining a new one and receiving a credit . . . .without screwing up :)

Wonderful! Did you purchase at a fairly high price to start with?

On a side note, I will be in Corpus Christi for the USBC Open in May (American Bank Center). Staying at the Omni Marina Hotel. Any thoughts on this hotel? Thanks.

You go throught the process of booking on the website. Before you do the final booking, you call southwest. They cancel you old flight reservation, release the funds, which you then use to pay for your new flight.

You can do this because when you are booking a flight that seat is removed from the seats available for 10 minutes. So essentially you are holding two seats for a few minutes until one is cancelled.

Just make sure you have your reservation number ready for the agent and to view your credited funds and to apply them to the new reservation.

It's really easy!! Go to the travel center, and click on "modify reservation". It'll walk you thru with no problem.

Yes, I went through the Travel Center, change your reservation link. I didn't want to risk canceling my reservation and not getting the flights I wanted. Instead, I was able to click on the same flights at a lower fare, then confirm that's what I wanted to do---at no point was I without the flights!

Fellow Texan here! I saved ~ $230 on SWA. When they changed their dates, the prices were still ~$320pp/rt. I waited till the DING birthday and got rt fares for $216 pp. :cool1: That's the same price I paid for our '04 trip. :worship: SWA

Im still waiting for some decent end of fares and hopefully the DING's will soon be extended through June.

You may be able to get a refund to your credit card. I believe if you change just the price on the same exact flight you can get a refund. Check out their refund part of the site. I still have to do it for one part of my flight.
