But I just booked a trip for July!!:rotfl2:

The last time we went in July was our honeymoon almost 11 years ago. It was hot, crowded, packed with Brazilian tour groups and I was 3 months pregnant and very sick! So I guess it can't be worse, right?:lmao:

It will just be DH and myself celebrating our 11 year anniversary at the BW. We were lucky to have a choice of resorts for July 18-20 and got a BW view!!

Will I survive? Do we dare step foot in a park? Is July as bad as I remember? We have AP's so we could go in a park a leave if it's too much for us.

go in the morning - EMH - then leave when it gets too hot or too crowded - come back that night for more EMH...

annual passes are pretty wonderful!:thumbsup2 not to mention EMH!

We just got back from celebrating our 11 anniversary. It was hot. We did the early morning and then come back to room and go back later at night. Worked great.

We went in July last year. We just got up super early and went to the parks first thing, then headed back to the room to change our sweaty clothes and rest in the AC. In the evenings, we went out to dinner or enjoyed a nice swim. There were more people than in Jan, but we were never at the parks midday so it wasn't bad.

You know what you are getting into, so I think that is half the "battle".

Have fun!

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Since you know what you are going to see....lots of heat :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

....and lots of people :crowded:

...you can plan accordingly.

We go pretty much in June or July every year. The good news is that everything's open, nothing is being re-habbed, and with common sense planning and judicious use of Fast Pass, you get to pretty much do whatever you want albeit at a slower pace.

We're going in late July this year and looking forward to it immensely! :)

Happy Anniversary! I'm glad you were able to book this great trip for yourselves.

Bobbi:)

You'll be fine. We went for the first time in July back in 2005 and said, "NEVER AGAIN!" Well this will be our 3rd trip in the summer. :confused3

It's really not that bad if you know what to do. Go to the parks early and leave early, like 11. Then go back to the resort and go in the pool or just hang out there. Get freshened up and go to a nice dinner. Then do the EMH park at night time. We usually skip the parades and fireworks at MK since we've seen these a lot and hit the big rides then. Last summer when we did this we walked on Big Thunder Mtn., Space Mtn, and Splash Mtn. It was great!

If you take it easy you'll be fine.

This is US! :rotfl: We keep saying we aren't doing a summer trip and yet, here we go again next month. NOW we are doing this because we are going with extended family and this is the only time everyone can go. I do think it will be our last time though because my twin DDs are starting high school and much to my dismay I found out that high school sports practice in the summer! HUH? OK, I didn't know and we have the trip planned and airfare bought, but next year I can't use that excuse. I guess that will just leave us with spring break (which is expensive airfare, but much better weather).

So add us to the "never again in the summer" group....and this time we mean it!!! ;)

Have a great trip! Mornings are the BEST. Try to make it to those EMHs in the mornings. We love those.

We go every summer, usually August, but have gone several times in July. I agree that half the battle is knowing you are going at a super busy time. As DVC'ers we have the luxury of knowing we can always do something later if the line is too long! :cool1: We are actually heading down on July 3rd this year, and I am a little scared, but we will be at WDW! How bad can it be.......:cloud9:

I do not mean to take go :offtopic: but the OP mentioned tour groups in July. I have to say, the one thing that honestly put me OVA the edge last year was a group of tour group guides at the FP kiosks with stacks of passes in their hands (I am talking 50 + passes each). We literally waited in the RnR Fast Pass distribution line for 30 minutes. There were guides at each of the machines, and I am telling you, many guests were going BALLISTIC! Now this was the ONLY time I have ever seen this, and I sure hope is was the last.

hi we have almost gone in the summer every year. we love it since everything is open and the pools are great. we laugh at people spending all day in the park and look exhausted when we enter at night for a few hours after a relaxing day by the pool etc. I also do love christmas time but hard to swim when it is only 60 degrees out.

At least you know it will be hot and crowded with Brazilian tour groups but at least your not pregnant!!! OH!! Maybe you are!! If so, then you really know what to expect and congratulations!!

We go every summer for the first 2 weeks in August. This year we are only going for the last week in July due to my girls many activities!!

Hot and Humid it is.............but my butt will be parked at the OKW pool!!!

Last summer we did those late nights and stayed in the parks until 3 AM and the next day just slept at the pool...........or more like, IN the pool!!!

It is HOT just about every where in July.........at least you'll be in Disney having a magical time!!!

When we go in the summer I do nothing in the day. Hang out on a hammock reading, have an afternoon nap, a drink, swim. Lovely. Lazy and lovely.

But there is nothing like summer nights at WDW. We DVCers talk about the how difficult the summer is there but forget about the best thing - summer nights. That's when I actually move around. Even more lovely.

Have a wonderful time.

Thanks everyone! And no I am not pregnant this time!LOL My kiddies are 10 and 5 and I am done!;)

I was able to get ressies for lunch on our arrival day at LeCellier and ressies for dinner at Tutto Italia on Sat. I was so glad because those are 2 of our favorites!

I think we will take it easy by the pool and do the late nights at the park. The day we arrive it's an EMH night at MK and it will be open till 2am!! DH and I are night owls so it's perfect for us.

have a great time!

Congratulations on your anniversary.

remember to drink water - lots of water. yea, lots of people complain about how the water taste - that say everyone drinks it in the summer. (even while they are complaining)
