That sounds like an au pair I had when I was little. (au pairs are basically live in nannies from Europe).
Anyway, from the time I was born till I was 3 or 4 we had 4 or so au pairs.
3 of them were AMAZING, and we still keep in touch with 2, 1 of whom is basically our family now.
But the last one. Wow. She was terrible.
My mom specifically told her she didn't want me potty-trained yet (I had just turned 3) because she was going to quit work soon and she wanted to do it herself.
So my au pair took it upon herself that she was going to potty train me anyway.
There's this entrance to my house called the foyer, it's like 3'x3'ish, and its closed off with the front door and then a door leading into the house.
Since there's no heating in there, in the fall and winter it gets REALLY cold.
So my au pair would lock me into the foyer everytime I went to the bathroom in my diaper. Until my parents got home. She'd lock me in there for HOURS at a time.
She never explained that the bathroom was an option, and then I wouldn't get locked in the foyer.
So I just started holding it in for hours until my parents got home.
My mom later fired her because she saw her full-on freaking out on my 4 year old brother and me, like, where she was concerned for our safety.
Anyway, about a month later, I had a check-up at my pediatrician, and she said that my bladder was REALLY enlarged, like, dangerously so, and asked my mom if I was ever forced to hold it in for long periods of time.
So I was like, "Oh, when Camilla locked me in the foyer if I went potty."
My mom had had NO idea, and she freaked out.
My doctor said that if it had gone on for any longer, I probably would have had severe medical issues.
Plus now I'm a little clautrophobic
