I don't really live close to a Disney store and since I collect both Disney movies and lithographs I order them by mail. Well today my new movie arriived looking like it always does. Sealed square flat package. I open it take out the DVD, take out the lithographs, and then take out the invoice. And there is a brown mailing envelope in the bottom of the box. It has Media mail on the outside of it. It is to lady in Smyra, GA, from a lady in Riverdale, GA. It has a postage meter sticker from Riverdale on it. It seems to be a book from the feel of it. But how did it did in my package unless my package was opened at the post office? And my package has a SC address where it was from. Now is this not strange? I am returning it tomorrow telling the Post Office this was inside my sealed package. Really, really strange!!!

Is it possible that one mail order house handles both types of orders? Someone might have packaged the other merchandise with yours by mistake.

that package doesn't sound like something a mail order house would send out, more like personal mail from one woman to another.

where does the Disney merchandise come from? is it mailed from Georgia? it's possible that the sender works for Disney and brought the package to work so she could mail it, then accidentally packed it with your merchandise.

or it could be your package was opened and resealed.

 that IS really strange. I wonder if, like you suggested, the mail got opened @ the postoffice and it got in there somehow from that. I think you'd be very nice to return it to the post office so the ladies can have their mail.

tricia.

Freaky...this same thing happened to us today. We handed our mail directly to our mail carrier one day earlier this week. Today, we get a phone call from someone we don't know saying she received our sealed car payment in an envelope from some local furniture company! Turns out that the local furniture company sends in bulk mail unsealed to the post office. The post office then seals the envelopes for them. Somehow, our mail got sealed inside an envelope from the local furniture company's bulk mail.

To be honest, we're quite upset. What would have happened had an honest person in our area not taken the time to look our name up in the phone book and tell us of the "strange envelope" that she received? First off, our car payment wouldn't have been paid, and I'm sure we would have had to pay a healthy fine. Second, could it have been the start of identity theft?

We really would like to complain to someone, but we're pretty certain that it would fall on deaf ears.

Was the DVD marked as being "media mail"? If so this could be why. All media mail is subject to search. If you package was opened this item may have been inadvertantly repacked in yours.

Yep, Media mail is being checked more often now. Thats the Postal service cracking down to make sure people are sending media with media mail.
