Thanks all. Well, we had a really good chat and she explained the job to me. It is a brand new idea, which has just been successfully piloted by the Department for Transport and the MOD are keen to jump on the bandwagon now and adopt it themselves. As I mentioned before, they are awaiting union approval and funding for the establishment of a post to actually set up the scheme but, meanwhile, she has offered me the job on a secondment basis (at least 3 months), at the end of which I can either:

a) Apply for the job once it's advertised
b) Apply for another job
c) Come back to my current job

I am waiting to see a girl who works for her and has been involved int he initial planning, to get an idea of what is involved but I think I'm probably going to take it. Let's face it, I can't be any worse off - and she has said if I'm not enjoying it, I can continue to apply for other jobs if anything I fancy comes up. Sounds like a win/win situation if you ask me.

Anyway, I am feeling loads happier about the whole thing, today is Day 7 off the cigarettes and I managed to get a solid 6 hours sleep last night
