I REALLY need a Capture Your Moment reservation

Our trip is in December, and my brother is planning to ask his girlfriend to marry him in the Magic Kingdom our first day there.

I'm a planner, so I did my research and decided that I would pay for a CYM photographer to take pics of the big moment. I started a month ago looking at daily reservations 60 days out (I did it just as an investigation since we can't make our reservations until October) and saw that there were usually multiple open times per day. Then over the last week or two there have been absolutely no free times (even at 6am eastern) whether I'm on the mobile app or the website.

So here we are, less than a month from the date to make our reservations, and it appears getting a CYM reservation is now just as tough as an ADR for O'hana. So here are my questions...

1) Does the Disney website make CYM reservations available 60 days out at 6am eastern just like ADRs, or is it a different time?
2) Is anyone else having the same issue I'm having or am I just having terrible luck?
3) The CYM web page has this note, "A limited number of same-day reservations may be available. Visit Box Office Gifts inside Magic Kingdom Park for same-day inquiries and booking." Has anyone done this and had it work?

We're working on backup plans in case I can't make a CYM reservation, but I'd rather make this happen the way my brother wants to do it.

Thanks in advance!

I'm also looking to do this in December so have been trying to look at dates in Nov just to see what the options look like but since nothing's available it's impossible to see.

At least I'm not the only one.

I'm actually on hold with WDW reservations now to see if they can answer the questions I put in my original post. I'll post what I find out.

1. Yes and they are available up to 60+10 days in advance if staying onsite, just like dining. If you can book it towards the end of an onsite stay, you should be fine.

I asked that question because I tried one day at 6am eastern and nothing was available. The next day at 5:45am eastern, the date that was 60 days out showed that it was active and no reservations were available - 15 minutes before it should have been active.

And unfortunately, I need this on arrival day +1 since he wants to propose early in the day on our first day in the park.

That is going to make it really tough. My suggestion is for you to have a couple props she does not know about, Just engaged sign something like that they can use with any photographer in the park.
You could work it so you all don't arrive at same time in park and keep a bag in a locker for the moment he chooses. Someone goes and grabs the bag and you have the items ready just after he pops the question. They would be able to use it at multiple spots around Disney and the family would even be able to get photos for them as well. You could even have shirts made up they could change into "She said Yes" something along those lines. Good luck.

This is a bit late, but in my experience these spots are going live at midnight, not 6am. Could be part of the issue.

We did a photo shoot last month. I mentioned to the photographer that I booked right when they opened up, and I could only get an afternoon reservation. He told me that travel agents jump on the reservations and put them as part of travel packages for their clients. He said if they can't sell them as a package, then they cancel. He said he's telling people who can't get a reservation to check in the parks first thing in the morning. He said sometimes you can get lucky and get same day times available. It's not a guarantee, but if you are locked out of times, it's certainly worth a try. Good luck getting a time that works for you!

Geez, that sounds a lot like how people used to scoop up all the CRT reservations back in the day. That's really unfortunate.
