One of my friends helps her DD with her homework when she is talking to me on the phone. Many times I don't know whether she is talking to me or her kids. I mean, if it's not a good time for a phone conversation, just say so.
You're talking on the phone with someone and their call waiting beeps, they put you on hold and come back and say, "I gotta go". Seems to me that the other person is more important than you... My MIL does this to me all the time.
Oh Serena - I get that all the time here at work. (AAA in the road service dept) It is so annoying and I feel bad for the kids. They can not help that mom (or dad) is broke down. It is just as bad as the husband/wife in the back ground yelling at the person I am talking to. I get alot of husbands that like to yell info that I am asking of the wife. So very annoying. One time I asked since he wants to yell the info why dont you let him talk.
I have had people snakcing on chips and such while trying to tell me where they are broken down - that is annoying too!
Serena, It never fails...I will pick up the phone to make a call and I'll tell DS, "Now keep it down, I'm going to be on the phone". Wouldn't you know, he picks that time to stub his toe or some other thing and then carry on like it's a major injury!
even worse is when they bring those kids to your work place. it's no fun standing in an exam room and having a parent spanking their kid in front of you, or answer their cell phone! I just want to tell them, "No problem... you're being billed by the minute."
Doc Too funny. I also can't stand when they don't bring anything for the kids to do and expect them to just sit there. They are kids and are going to get into things, bring them a book, a toy or something. Hey how about those oh by the ways
