Sitting here on my lunch hour thinking of all the stuff I could be getting done at home if I didn't have to work. I have a chronic illness, so working full time really takes all my energy. There isn't much left when I get home. I need to wash my hardwood floors, clean out pile of paper in office, do laundry, clean DR floors, clean out coat closet, put up Christmas decorations, etc. etc. And at some point I want to bake several types of cookies....

I felt the same way until I got a housekeeper. She only comes every other week, but it saves me sooo much time! She couldn't come last week and it about killed me getting everything done WITH my DH's help. Sorry about your illness. Good luck with your home chores and getting those cookies made.

I just bought the Orange-Glo hardwood floor mop and is that NICE. It has a special cleaning pad and a bottle of spray cleaner. It took me about 1/8th of the time to do our floors then it does to do a hands and knees wipedown. I got it at Walmart.

Thanks. I will look for that!

Actually, my dad lives with us and he does a lot of light cleaning, like vacuuming, sweeping...and he cooks! I really am spoiled.

I use a Swiffer to pick up lint and dog hair, then use Murphy's Oil Soap to clean my hard wood floors, takes very little time and the floors are spotless!

But I agree with the OP. This is our slowest time of year and I have nothing to do at work, but I've got a TON of stuff to do at home. But when I get home, I'm just exhausted! And I don't know why, I'm young, healthy, have a desk job, and no kids! I should be ready to clean the house, but all I want to do is vegge infront of the tv! And DH sleeps all day on Saturday and Sunday (he works nights) so I can't get much done on the weekends, because I can't make noise and wake him. Maybe I'll take a personal day next week and get some REAL work done! :teeth:

I know how you feel. I am not looking forward to going back to work for that reason, even though I'll be doing something I know I'll love (teaching).
