I Really Feel The Magic When...

When the castle is light up at night....

When I giggle through every darn twist and turn at Space Mt and feel like a little kid.

When I scream at that one very un-expected "extra" drop on the TofT that they always seem to get you with.

When I get the actual park ticket in my hand. Something about that gives me a little tingle.

And the newest one .. when I laugh the entire ride and pull the string as fast as I can until my arm is tired on Toy Story Mania.

I love this thread!

Some of you might think I'm crazy but I really start to feel like I'm there when we get to the resort and smell the Disney air. I don't know if it's the almost constant humidity or the different plants, but to me Disney has a totally different smell than anywhere else.

Going under the Disney World sign in the ME bus

The monorail! I have a t-shirt with the monorail speech in Spanish and I wear it all the time.

Stepping off the bus and looking at the MK from outside.

Going to the Poly and finding my family's stone.

I couldn't have said it better myself!:thumbsup2

QUOTE=baby1disney;29964192]First let me say that this is an AWESOME thread!!!!:thumbsup2

I have a few myself:

I Really Feel The Magic When....

We are going to bed the night before and I can't sleep because I know in a few hours what we'll be doing!!!!:goodvibes :cool1:

Are driving down I-75 south and slowly leaving behind all the worries!!:drive:

When we hit the "Welcome to Florida" sign!!!! I actually start to cry!!!!:goodvibes

When we hit the "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign!!! I cry there, too!!!:rotfl2: I know, I know, I know...I'm a sap!!!

And for me, this part especially, is when I see TinkerBell fly across for the Wishes fireworks show!! That's when I truly know that I'm here!!!!!::yes:: ::yes::
[/QUOTE]

1. I see the Walt Disney Sign across the interstate when you are nearly there.
2. I pull up at our DVC resort, checking in.
3. A character or CM gives the extra effort to me or my family.
4. When I'm layed out poolside with my wife in the early, cool afternoon as my kids are swimming.
5. Seeing my kids get so excited about Disney!!!
6. Watching Wishes, or Illuminations, or Fantasmic.
7. Going to The Man and his Dream.
and much, much more!!!!

I really feel the magic when ... I ride Dumbo (pink, of course) for the first time. I keep my Dumbo at the highest possible point and just look around at all the wonderful stuff as far as the eye can see.

That's my favorite part of every trip, no question. (And I just did it again yesterday!)

I'm tearing up reading some of these!
As many people said "Driving through the WDW property gates" Yes! We all say "Hi Mickey-we are here" I get teary eyed then-saps unite!

It seems like for so many of us it is the just being there factor that is magical!
I can't wait to just be there again!

That is funny that you said that. I was just watching YouTube (love watching anything Disney on there) and was watching people arriving to WDW via the DME. There is one vidoe, that a person taped, just as they were going under the "Welcome" sign and the bus driver had everyone on the bus count down from 5 and just as they got under the sign they were at 1 and everyone shouted "Welcome to Disney" and cheered. I got soooooo emotional just watching that video....It was awesome. :thumbsup2

I guess you could say that when I look out my window now and see the thick layer of ice coaing my front walk and obscenely long driveway and the ice melt I've put down struggling to even make a dent and then I remember that in two weeks I'll be in Florida, that's a kind of a magic. We could call it "the Magic Of Being Totally Sick of Winter."

More seriously, I think some of the most magic moments I have at WDW are the ones I can't plan for and don't anticipate. Oh sure, there are the more standard ones, like seeing the signs as we get closer to the park and getting my first view of Cinderella Castle (especially when I was coming back to the park for the first time in probably 10 years or so) and checking out a new show or attraction that really wows me or getting to the park when it opens. But a lot of the really special stuff is spontaneous moments. Like trading pins with two little boys while waiting in line for Festival of the Lion King. Or seeing a really obscure character walking around. Or finding the Cornelius Coot statue in Mickey's Toontown Fair for the first time. Or watching a little brother and sister dance together at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe at night when the place was nearly empty.

I look forward to checking out the new attractions the park has added since i last went and going back to see ones I've always loved, but those unexpected pleasures are always very special to me.

The moment the pilot says "we will be touching down at Orlando International in approximately 20 minutes" the magic is on!!!

I really feel the Magic when the credit card bill comes after the trip is over!! :scared1:

...when it is nighttime and the castle is lit up. As a girl I used to watch the castle from the GF beach and I felt the magic of being in the World. The music for the Electrical water parade too!

...my sister and i jump from the day bed to the regular bed when our dad is in the bathroom.:rotfl2:

...when we first arrive and we take a relaxed trip over to MK and walk around main street and realize that we are "home"princess:

...when we are on the magical express bus on our way to the resort and all of the excitement is too much to hold in:crazy2:

...when I wake my son up the morning we are leaving for Disney.

...when we pass the Florida state line after many hours of driving.:drive:

With my first interaction with a CM. At the Magical Express and the resort, they really shine the magic on you!

This is mine! How are they always in such good moods at the resorts??? :)

My secondary one is hearing my first Disney song, perhaps in Mickey's Philharmagic! :goodvibes

When I first set foot into EPCOT. The second I can see that sphere, I feel lighter. I'm a traveller. I think, somewhere, there's gypsy blood in my veins. I can't stay in one place for long. I want to get out and see the world and all it's wonders. And EPCOT lets me do a little of that, at a fraction of the cost. I really enjoy world showcase. Some of my favourite things to do include: getting chicken terriyaki at Yakitori House and sitting at a table next to the small pond fountain, eating with chopsticks (I love eating with chopsticks. I'm getting myself a permanent pair this trip); grabbing a frozen tea near China, then watching the acrobats or just strolling through the shop; and finally getting a frozen cappucino (or coffee or whatever) at the stand between America and Italy, then grabbing a table in St. Mark's Square and just watching people walk by.

I know, I'm weird because I don't feel the magic as much at the MK. Or so says my family.
