I quit being a mom as of .......now!
DS's are being very trying and I'm tired of trying so I quit.























Does that work?

my momma did that once when i was a young teen and we learned to appreciate all she did for us very fast.

This has not been a good weekend with dd's either. My oldest who is normally sweet, polite and nice to her mother (that would be me! ) has been none of these things the last couple days and I let her have it a couple hours ago. Before I get flamed, no hitting or anything, but I reminded her how much I do for her and I do not DESERVE the treatment I have been receiving back. After some tears on her part and a few of my own, she apologized and said she was very sorry for how she's been acting and she will do better. She is almost 8 and I think we will spend alot of the teenage years in tears together!

DS #2 has been asleep for awhile now. DS#1, my most trying son, is asleep, I think after arguing, groaning, moaning, and making other various obnoxious noises since 9 pm. He wasn't tired, which in Tylerese means he is EXHAUSTED!

I haven't ever quit being mom, but I have told my kids I want to change my name. Hearing "MOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!" in a whining voice 50 zillion times really is annoying. When I tell them that, my ds says "Ok, we'll call you Shannon then." It's annoying to hear that name 50 zillions times in a whining voice, too.

In all seriousness........ I'd probably give just about anything to find the "right" guy and have a child, so just remember no matter how crappy it seems sometimes, you wouldn't trade any of it for the world.

That's what they invented "mother's little helper" for, right?

Our DS is gone for a week starting today and I was just thinking a little while ago about how quiet it was. Frankly I miss him even though he was driving me crazy yesterday afternoon.

Late last night I wrote the Rules of Summer, followed by the Rewards of Summer and the Summer Day.

I spelled out how much tv they can watch, how much computer time, when snack time is and what they can have, as well as daily chores.

The rules include Respect, Listen, clean up.
The rewards: go out for ice cream, putt-putt, and Listening Dollars! This is my 4 yo favorite.

I tried it last week-if they listen and don't argue ALL day they get a dollar! My 4 yo also earned a dollar for not crying ALL day.

I know someone is reading this thinking "she is paying her kids to be good." Well, I've tried all the other reward things and they work for awhile and then we have to change so this is just another in my arsenal. The upside is now when we go the store and they want candy, toys etc, they have $$$ of their own. We don't give an allowance.


I'll let you know how this is working.......it's 11:30 am Monday and it's working so far! LOL!!! 3 hours down.
