We ate ate Spoodles every vacation since 1996. I just had dinner at Kouzzina and it was ok but not good enough to eat there regularly. I had a Greek salad with almost no lettuce! Really ..where is the lettuce? It had a hugh hunk of Feta cheese, which I love but too much to eat, and six slices of tomatoes and olives of course. Lamb burger was good but it is spicy says DH. Steak, on the small side good but expensive. Appetizer platter was good, would get again. Their grape leaf appetizer with goat cheese was good but way too much cheese. The menu didnt really appeal to me and I like this type of food. I miss Spoodles! Any thoughts from others?

I prefer Spoodles and I never even got to eat there! :lmao:

I was really disappointed with my meal at Kouzzina. My grandmother had that Lamb Burger too and she doesn't like spicy food. Would have been nice if the menu or the chef we spoke to mentioned it was spicy! And everything was waaaaay over-salted. Our server was MIA for 90% of our meal as well.

Too bad I'll never get to try Spoodles. :sad2:

We really loved Spoodles, ate there on almost every trip. We tried Kouzzina for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had a great meal and service. There were 6 adults in our party and they all loved it. I had the Lamb Burger which I though was excellent. I knew going in that it would be spicy so I was prepared for that. My wife had the whole fish and she enjoyed that too.

An authentic Greek salad doesn't contain lettuce.

Hi, We had BREAKFAST there in November (it was a LONG wait to be seated even thou the place was pretty empty:confused3) but the FOOD was delicious and our server was really nice. In fact this is where we had the NEW coffee that WDW is switching over to. The manager came over and talked to us about it when we commented to our server that the coffee was actually GOOD and we KNEW it was not NESCAFE!! So we will DEFINITELY return for Breakfast :thumbsup2. Joan

Lettuce in a greek salad is a north American thing - you won't find lettuce in a real greek salad!

I've not eaten at the restaurant, but I'll be another to chime in that it sounds like you got an authentic Greek salad instead of an Americanized one. Our local Greek cafe serves a Greek salad and a Greek salad with lettuce. They both have the big piece of feta.

Unfortunately I wouldn't get a salad wiith 6 slices of tomato and a very large hunk of feta cheese....not appealing to me at all. I love feta but couldn't eat that much. I preferred the menu at Spoodles. Wish this restaurant all the best but It won't be on our must do list as Spoodles was.

PS we are in northern America:). Just wish the waiter had let me know. I wouldn't have ordered it

Sorry to hear about your experiance. We have not eaten here and it is not on the top of our 'to do list' with so many negative reviews.

I will agree with PPs who stated that traditional great salad doesn't come with lettuce but it doesn't sound like you got a traditional salad either. The traditional salad comes with cucumbers, red onions, peppers (usually read and green), tomatos, olives and feta. I wouldn't be happy six slices of tomato and a hunk of cheese.

Spoodles was our favorite restaurant in WDW! I have no interest in Kouzzina but will always miss Spoodles!

Ditto!

When Spoodles first opened it was even better with the large family style appetizers and entrees. Kouzzina's menu does not appeal to me at all and I am an adventurous eater.

I have heard great things about Spoodles but didn't have the oppportunity to try it...however I seem to be in the minority as I LOVED Kouzzina! I frequent authentic greek restaurants in my local area, and found the food at Kouzzina fantastic.

I loved the appetizer sampler, and also had a Greek Salad which I loved! I am pretty sure mine had tomato (very fresh and delicious), red onion, olives, feta, and cukes (I think)....it did have a fair sized peice of feta but it was some of the best feta I have ever had so no complaints from me!

I will definitely be going back, as I didn't have room for dessert and really wanted to try the greek donuts with honey!

Another positive vote here for Kouzzina. Our whole family really enjoyed our meal there during our November trip.

As for Spoodles: we loved it when we ate there in 06. Shortly after that they homogenized their menu (as often happens at WDW) and we weren't fans of it after that. If they weren't going to let Spoodles be Spoodles, I'm glad they brought in something new and interesting.
