Just wanted to share that I think the Restaurants forum will go nuts this morning, and not in a good way. Just saw a post on Facebook from Deb Wills that Le Cellier will start taking 2 dining credits for dinner only starting March 1, 2011.

I'm assuming lunch will still be 1 credit.

I read that rumor on there a long time ago. I sure hope the poster gets some good I told you so. They were mean to her for posting it.

Not sure if it is worth 2DP.

Based on our dinner in June, if the quality is maintained, I would go at the 2 credit price. We ate at the Yachtsman just a couple of days apart and my steak was to me better at Le Cellier. I know consistency has been an issue, but based on my personal experience, I will go again.

I would think that this would make lunch really busy. I also wonder if there will be a big price increase to justify the 2 TS credit.

I've always enjoyed Le Cellier but don't feel it's worth 2 TS credits (of course, I feel that way about most of the WDW restaurants!).

Now here's the next question...will they scale down the lunch menu if it's going to remain 1 TS credit?

I'm guessing it will be a little of both...Scale down lunch, and hopefully raise the dinner standards.

I have to say if they start taking the excellent dining establishments and start raising them to 2 credits .... I just won't get the dining plan at all. My husband and I can go there and each get an appetizer...split and meal and dessert and be quite happy.....which will also cost less. We only get the plan because it is nice to have all the meals pre-paid.

I am sorry the last 2 meals I had there were very poor. When folks stop going maybe they will improve the food.

Good i think the more popular ones should be more.

I don't know if the foods good or not i never gone but still more popular = more dining credits.

I was not impressed at one credit, now it's a definite no at two. Of course, I don't buy the DDP now, so it doesn't matter. I will and do eat off-site quite a bit.

now theres a surprise. i remember that.........she had a pretty good informant.....a relative that worked there..........and they were treating her as if she got the info from a boat captain:rotfl2:........i for one will not pay 2 credits.

I would hope they would do this to justify the raise. But, since I haven't gone there since the DDP started, it's no big loss to me. I prefer TiW vs. DDP anyway.

We ate there last year and have reservations again in a few weeks. We enjoyed it very much both time. But, now I guess it's time to say "been there, done that...." and move on.

Well, the thread was closed and moved to the News and Rumors Board for now. If multiple reliable sources confirm it, then I'm sure the Restaurants board will bring it back again.

I remember hearing about this and was hoping that it would not effect our trip in october. We are going to see what the hub bub is about and to have the expereince. Everyone has their opinion and are entitled to it. we have done Yachtsmen and had a so-so dinner there last November. It's time to try a new steakhouse.

I cannot chime in quite yet by saying it is or it is not worth 2 TS credits, let's hope it can meet that standard. I feel popularity has nothing to do with the amount of TS credits a place should be. If the food is worth 2 TS credits, then so be it, but not just because it is popular.

Sort of OT: Jason and I HAD a 3:25 'dinner' for October 6th at Le Cellier. I got a call on Monday from them saying that they had to move our 'dinner' up to 2:55. I was kind of peeved by this, but am thankful that we still have our reservation. We will just have to eat light around the world during F&W and resume a couple of hours later after our Le Cellier 'dinner'

I'm almost positive that when the dining plans first came about (they were called the Gold, Silver, etc. plans back then) that Le Cellier was 2 TS.

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time! Too bad it wasn't supposed to be funny. pirate:

Seriously, I know from a business perspective this is simply Disney trying to even-out the demand for leCellier while making a few more $$$$ from it. Hopefully people will quickly realize that its just not worth it.
