I just got off the phone with Disney Dining. Thought I would try to get a few places on different nights, change a few, etc....

Didn't happen!!

Everything is booked!!
I couldn't get Planet Hollywood on a wednesday night, aug 29, anytime after 2:00pm. Could get in at 11:00pm though.

Couldnt get any MGM restaurants Sunday, Aug 26th. I was hoping for a Fantasmic Dinner Pkg cancellation, but no luck there either.

No Chef Mickeys another day. Can't remember the others I asked for, but it was booked solid all over.

I feel bad for those that don't know about ADRs and the Dis, and will be turned away repeatedly.

---So if you have places you know you won't be eating at, and have double bookings, please cancel them, so others have a chance.....:cloud9:

We had lunch at LeCellier while visiting a bit over a week ago. We heard the hostess telling folks the restaurant was fully booked through December 2007! She was more than willing to assist them find a dining location elsewhere, but there were no walk-ins being accepted and no ability to make an ADR before December. I should also say that this was the case when we visited last June; although the restaurant was only booked through October then.

Speaking of Le Cellier..

When I called today for ADRs for December 2007 (Dec 10 - 16th) I could only get lunch for Le Cellier!! My goodness, people! :rotfl:

Ah, I miss the days when ADRs months in advance weren't necessary...

Wow - I had my choice of days for a Le Cellier dinner during the 10th-16th when I called on Friday. Although IIRC, there was only one day open for a party of 3 or 6. But we could have gotten a 2 or 4 any of those dates.

Slightly different but I called the other day to switch two ADR's.

The first one I wanted to San Angel Inn for the evening we would be in Epcot. Totally booked (Nov 29th).

I forgot to ask about my second one so I called immediately back. For the heck of it, I asked about 11/29 and San Angel again.

Guess what? Available at either this time or this time. How did that happen? :confused3

Were not going til November but we're all sorted (Le Cellier (CP Package), Crystal Palace, Boma, Libery TRee Tav (Thanksgiving) but I know one of my work colleagues did'nt beleive me when I told her we'd already made our ADR's.

She flies out from the UK on Thursday without one ADR

Looks like a couple of weeks of burgers for her!

I also just called to make some changes and none of the places I wanted had anything but 8:55pm for dinner.

I guess I will be happy with what I have.
I just pray none of my ADR's get lost or canceled by mistake.

I will be taking all my confirmation numbers with me everyday to the parks.

After reading this thread I was panicky becasue my beloved Teppanyaki (now Teppan Edo) moved their opening date further out which meant getting a replacement...
Well i called and was given NUMEROUS choices (party of 4 on 8/26)
at Epcot (only place I checked).
Quite a few time slots offered

Biergarten (sp?)
Rose & Crown
SAn Angel
Chefs De France (I chose a 5pm seating here)
Akershus
Nine Dragons
Marrakesh

SOOOO moral of the story--there is hope!!! LOL...Keep calling and you never know.

My poor friend ... she is going next week after her husband got picked to go to a conference! No ADRs!! I told her to call right away and see if she can get in at some resort restaurants! I'm beginning to worry about my ADRs and I haven't even reached 180 days yet!! :scared1:

I totally agree!! There is almost nothing to be had in the way of ADR's during September....I had all mine planned as soon as free dining was announced and was able to get everything that I wanted and then a month or so later my bil and his family decided to come with us so I had to change everything and it has been so hard. I got down to just telling the CM to tell me what they had available because everything I asked for was a No. What kills me is all the people who make these reservations and then either cancel their trip or decide not to go to a certain meal and then they don't cancel their ADR's because technicly for most of them there is no cancellation penalty, I bet one day WDW will start making you leave a CC for all their restaurants. I would not know what to do if we didn't have any ADR's. I have pity on those going down there with no knowledge of them.

Im going to WDW Aug 4--Aug 7. I made one ADR at Narcossee for Sat night and that's it. I hate having to be somewhere to eat, I'd much rather fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to dinner & lunch. Besides, I'm driving down so If I have to, I can always get in the car and take a trip to I-Drive.

I called around a week ago for Boma's last Saturday (5:00-ish). I was very surprised to have easily gotten an ADR. Boma's opens at 4:30 on Saturday and the place was not even half full. That surprised me. But it was full or nearly full by the time we left, around 45 minutes later.

I made our ressies for our August trip back in February. We decided to drop a few days off our WDW trip and go over to US since the kids are older and big enough to try most of the rides. So the ressies we have for our last 2 nights won't be used (yes, I did cancel).

Because we are going to miss 'Ohana, I tried to see about switching out one of our other nights for that. Called last week (we arrive on 8/18). There was nothing available for the entire night of our arrival. I didn't bother asking about any other day, as we like our plans as they are. Just didn't want to miss 'Ohana this trip (dh got sick last time and ended up sitting there ill while ds and I ate our meal).

I'm sure there are moments when things open up and some lucky called gets the ressie they want. But mostly, the popular places (LeCellier, 'Ohana) are going to be booked up months in advance. Perhaps if the rumored changes do occur, there will be more availability at the TS restaurants.

We are taking our first trip in october. I couldn't believe that we had to make adr's 180 days out. I read on the boards to try to make then a few days before the 180 day mark. I tried and it worked we we're lucky enough to get everything we wanted.

I called Sci-Fi to book an ADR for Labor Day afternoon. I wanted a late afternoon from 2-4:00ish for an ice cream sundae OOP and it's booked! Luckily I've made our real ADRs, this was just an extra. I guess we'll try walking in later in the week when hopefully it's not so busy.

Thank you, OP, for the reminder to cancel if you are overbooked, double booked, or have too many "just in case" ADR's that aren't really necessary.

I was one of those who tried from April '06 on to get into Le Cellier for our trip last fall during FDP without success. As it turned out, I called from our room when we got there and got a table a LC! You just never know.

It's the luck of timing and what comes up on the screen when you call - keep at it if you have your heart set on something.

This trip we are paying for DDP and leaving the day FDP starts - knew ADR's would be totally impossible for us to get as this is a relatively last minute trip! I called on a Friday afternoon and with a little patience, got everything I needed.

My pet peeve, tho, is those folks who think they are entitled to make 2 ressies for the same night- where the system will allow - and never think to cancel or realize that's discourteous.

If I'm lucky enough to get what I would like as a dining choice, terrific. But let's not be of the smug demeanor that says,"You snooze, you lose," if you are the samrt one who had Disney Dining on speed dial 180 days out. ;)

I feel bad for those that don't know about ADRs and the Dis, and will be turned away repeatedly.

Keep in mind that Disney sets aside quite a few tables at each venue for 1.) folks that they check-in on property and need dining arrangements and 2.) walk-ins.

My friend went last year during free dining and didn't know about ADR's in advance. When she checked in at Pop, the CM asked her if she had any dining needs. She was able to book lot's of places at check-in, including Coral Reef and Alfredo's.

Folks that multiple book make me :headache:! Pick a place already and cancel the rest!
