anyone got one and if so what do you think about it
Thanks for any info

Jackie DH and I both have Iphones and love them, I even have a DIS shortcut on my main screen! I find the edge network fine for internet surfing and the keyboard is great, to be honest I would be lost without mine :)

It looks nice and has a very nice user interface, but it has a number of flaws - the camera is rubbish, no video camera, and no 3G networking to name a few.

Also there is a new model due out soon that will possible have 3G.

You could also look at the new Samsung. This had a good report in the Sunday papers and has a 5 megapixel camera and video and a nice touch screen like the iPhone.

No mms either.

Get a n95.

The phone does have a few "flaws" but to be honest the positives out way the negatives. I use a DSLR do not too bothered about the camera, as for MMS I just email pics. The edge network is pretty good I know that 3G is faster but the edge works for me:thumbsup2

There are so many phones to choose from it can be very confusing!:)

Both my husband and I have the Iphone. We love them. Internet browsing and ipod functions outweigh the negatives in my opinion.

For instance if I want to take pics then I will take my camera. I have used my camera outside before and the pictures pretty good considering.

The only pain is when someone wants you to forward a text. You cant do that. I think thats it. I dont really use MMS anyway.

Edge and wireless network for browsing the internet is excellent. Takes some time to get used to texting. Auto spell check is very handy.

Another vote here for the N95 i love mine and the camera is excellent. Plus it is slightly cheaper than the i phone, but in the end it comes down to personal choice.

Wow thats good. When i was looking for mine a couple of months ago the i phone was £180 plus £35 line rental. I pay £25 a month for my N95 with £90 credit to use on calls or texts.

I have an MDA Vario II on t-mobile web'n'walk for about £12 a month - I have had this phone for just short of two years and it's functionality is far better than the iPhone, I'm actually so attached to it I don't want to upgrade (I do fancy the new one though). We had a play with an iphone in the Apple shop in the Florida Mall back in October and don't get me wrong it is a very lovely thing, I have friends that have it and the edge network isn't a patch on my 3G, t-mobile are soon getting a new network - hsdpa - which is going to be even faster. I can also use the 3G to get my laptop onto the web when I'm out and about (although the bluetooth is a battery drain). I have a touch screen and slide out full qwerty keyboard which are great too.
Personaly, I think the ipone is over rated. I find the iphone technology was out of date when it was released but it's pretty, and it's Apple and the ads are trendy so folk swooned over them. IMHO.
DH is waiting patiently for a new Sony xperia that comes out around August which is supposed to be brill.
Good luck with your choice :thumbsup2

I also have an iphone and wouldn't be without it.

A couple of things to consider...

1. the £35 a onth contract is not bad value at 600 mins and several hunderd txts especially when you consider that there's unlimited data (great for when you're in the supermarket and remember that there's a recipe for Butternut squash soup on the dis and you want to know what ingredients to buy!! or (as I did) fly to Northern Ireland, forget the kid's car seats and need to find a halfords and driving directions from the airport! iphone did it all!

2. If you're holding out for the new version, it's probably not a bad idea - rumour has it that June 5th will be the launch date - but also that will be the date of the iphone 2.0 software release that should be available for current iphone users which may well negate some of the niggles of the current version.

3. Rumopur also has it that the new iphone will be able to be sold like a "regular" phone, i.e. discounted with certain price plans. Nothing confirmed yet, but check out www macrumors com (sorry - not enough posts for the URL!) as the 5th approaches.

3. The wealth of imitators, to my mind, are pale in compariosn to the iphone (and I may come off like an apple zealot here) but the design, ease of use and overall functionality just can't be beat.

4. It looks so cool!

Hope that helps

It looks nice and has a very nice user interface, but it has a number of flaws - the camera is rubbish.

The only downside that I can see from my iphone is that I can't send photo messages, everything else is far and away better than any other phone I've had. The user interface is genius, and I don't understand the comment about the camera at all - my mates can't believe the quality of the camera in comparison to theirs! It's so good that at Wembley on the weekend, I took only two photos with my 'normal' camera.

As with most Apple products, it's ease of use is unbelievable - I'd recommend it to anybody! :thumbsup2

Glad I waited
