If anyone is thinking of getting an I phone, Walmart has a real deal this weekend. I took my daughter to Verizon looking for an upgrade and then to walmart for a backpack. Decided to ask about the I phone while I was there as well. They have the I phone 4 on sale for 48.00 and the 4s for 148.00. They are also dropping all the activation fees for this weekend. They have multiple providers offered, including verizon and at&t.

I got a pretty good deal on my new 4S just last weekend.. Traded in my iPhone 4 at Target (they have a program where you can turn in old electronics, phones, ipods, games etc for a Target GC) so I got a GC for $130 for my trade. And they had the 4S on sale for $179. Not bad!! I also got the Apple CarePlan which covers warranty for 2 years, and was able to add that on right in Target. Overall, I paid $160 for the new phone (+tax) and the extra protection/warranty (which will cover my phone until my Verizon contract runs out!)

do anyone know if I have a pay as u go with verizon for ulimited, ph, text and web if Iput sim card in Iphone will it work?? the web on the phs we have is very hard to use? thanks

WOW! Thanks for these posts. I'm in the market for an upgrade and I will definitely check both of these out.

My target has them for 122~! I got DD a 4S last night for 122 and a 5.00 coupon to use anywhere in nTArget and then I opened a REDCARD and he gave me 5% more off the 122. Then I got the Applecare which hopefully I never need.....In the meantime I sell her itouch 4 back to amazon for 115 so the physically phone has cost me near nothing at this point.

I now lament that it is unfair that DD gets the 4S and I have the 4. He thne buys back my 4 for 132 and sells me the above and it ends up being a complete wash for me to own the 4S. my only out of pocket charge ithe 30.00 phone switch fee but I figure come resale in 2 years I will get that back over the 4.

SO I got 2 iphone 4S's last night and a dataplan for 101.00!!!! (after amazon trade in on touch).....GOOD DEAL!!!!! Careful on buying the plain 4 - seems the one they are peddling is the 8gb memory NOT the 16.....

The cost of the phones is down, but what about the monthly charges?

I absolutely love the iPhone 4... it sounds like a good deal. BUT be aware the iPhone 5 is coming out very very soon.

Honestly I would wait. When the 5 hits the market, the price of the 4 is likely to drop to $0 or something close to that.

$30? For what? One phone on a contract plan per month?

I don't see that anywhere. All contract plans (which this deal requires) cost much more than $30/mo.

30 a month per phone less corporate discount if you have one...

Our Target has them at that price too until the 3rd so we are going tonight.:thumbsup2

I just bought mine today. Walmart is not offering free activation, they are offering a $40 credit on a future bill (at least that's how it was at our Walmart). The 16gb was $148.

Now I'm just trying to figure out how all the bells and whistles work. :)

They don't have that deal where I live. The starting price is $117 and goes up from there at Walmart. :confused3

I have had the IPhone 4 for about a year and a half. I love my phone will probably upgrade when the 5 comes out. Enjoy your phones!

Some of the pay as you go plans can save you hundreds or more over the two years of most contracts. You have to pay big up front (like $600 for a 4S) but the per month rates are way lower and you make out in the end

I am hoping that when the iphone 5 comes out, the 4s will be reasonable. I have Straight Talk and an iphone 4.

If I were to get an iphone 4s, would I need to extend my current contract?

Yes, these discount prices at Target, Walmart etc are for a new or extended contract (2 years typically), so you are extending your contract an additional 2 years (depending on your carrier).

Yes, the 4 and 4S prices will drop once the 5 comes out, but I'm also thinking those "trade in" prices for older phones will dramatically drop as well. I'm not interested in the 5, mainly because of the new changes (old 4/4S case and any "current" apple usb chargers will no longer work with the new model) and usually the brand-new phones are buggy and glitchy for a bit. I like to wait for the "first round" to go through and see what the issues are :thumbsup2

Those are the exact reasons I went with the 4s. Accessories will be hard to find for the 5 for a while (since the phone is a different size), the chargers are no longer universal and new models of the iphones are always buggy. I prefer to let other people deal with the annoying issues. :rotfl:

New models are not always buggy. I got the iPhone 4 right after it was released and have had zero problems in the last two years. Plus, problems are usually able to be solved with a software fix, and Apple is pretty fast with those. There is a difference between a brand new model release (such as the original iPhone) and an update of a product which has been on the market for years.
