Hey Glenn, you finally got to the good stuff in your report! That 16 on my sticker is because they thought I looked so young...... Actually, it worked out well since we got to spend so much time at the party before our tour. We made it to the observation deck before the fireworks also. I can't believe we were both taking pictures from the railing and didn't see each other there. I guess you were in the mob down to the left of us. I was towards the end closer to the MK. DW had to walk away. I was using the top of the wall to help hold my camera steady and she just knew I was going to drop it. It was hilarious hearing all the car alarms go off when the louder fireworks were booming. I bet that is going to be chaos every night for those who are staying at BLT with a lake view, having to go check their car and see if they need to silence the alarm.

I'm a bit late catching up here!

Hey, you folks on here generally like dog pictures I've noticed. Here's ours, our 1 year old bichon named Swiffer. (This was the first picture ever taken with my camera, by the way.)

I'm posting this today because the little guy is on his way home right now from an expensive day at the vet. Over the weekend he was um, how to put this delicately, having issues at both ends. By this morning he was dehydrated and had to be put on an IV. He'll be home tonight and we'll have to watch how he does. He goes back to the vet tomorrow to either get more fluids or the IV taken out.

So, what you're saying is you had a Swiffer WetJet?
......Hope he's fully recovered!
I'm home under the weather today, and my "little boy" has great empathy! It's 1:30ishpm, and he's still under the covers as well!

Catching up on reading! Thinking AKL must be in my future stays as well!

Your photos are terrific. Eventually I would like to try BLT. The decor isn't my thang but the view and location to MK cannot be beat.

Actually, we did think about adding-on for the couple of days that we had to respond. We'd like to get the first purchase completely paid off before we do another. Plus, the resale market looks to be a little more cost-effective right now (not for BLT, since there aren't many sales yet, but for other resorts.)

From your DVC purchase story, I thought I'd get a comment from you like Winkers' below (regarding what I wrote about the husband and wife on the TV in the BLT suite).

If you add on points I think you just might get more than a "look" from your wife....

Your pictures from the roof are awesome! I love how you can see all the other buildings lit up along with the castle.

How late is the pool bar open at Kidani? How late is the fitness center open? How late is the pool open? How far is Kidani from AKL?

Those fireworks pix from the rooftop viewing area are awesome!

Okay, 'cause it's you, I called the front desk (you actually get routed to a call center) and asked about times. These are general.

Maji (pool bar) closes at 9pm

Survival of the Fittest fitness center is open 24 hours

Samawati Springs pool is open 7am to midnight

The lounge at Sanaa (don't know if it has a name) closes with the restaurant, usually 9 or 10pm

Victoria Falls at Jambo House closes at midnight

It's about a 10 minute walk from lobby to lobby. Or, you can catch any park bus to go from Kidani to Jambo; and a DTD bus to go from Jambo to Kidani.

I'm glad your tour got you to the roof in time for the fireworks. I did the exact same thing with my camera -- it was the only way to keep it steady enough! And you can't do that with the strap around your neck! Maybe they should put a net a couple of feet below the railing to catch all the cameras and sell them as "gently used" in the gift shop?

And I thought I was the only one that is ALWAYS cold. They just need to put more meat on their bones At least, that's what I'm always told. I'm telling you, unless it's at least 73 degrees out, I'm FREEZING!

The "Looks like the castle blew up" picture is (I hate to say it) hilarious! But don't say that though! I would be so sad if that castle was ever destroyed. And I'm sure I'm not the only one to think that....

I kinda knew that AKL and Kidani would have earlier closing times. I've dealt with that before staying at the VWL. I would just cab it to the Boardwalk....

Thank you so much for the nice compliments! I'm glad you're enjoying it. You have to be careful if you plan on drinking coffee while surfing the DIS. If you read any of Jordan's trip reports (who posted right above you) you'll need to invest in some plastic to cover your keyboard. His are hilarious.
