After our photopass photo shoot along the trail between Africa and Asia, we continued on to Asia to use our fastpasses for a second ride on Kali River Rapids. As we approached it Judy said that she didnt want to ride it again, and the girls chimed-in that they didnt either. I dont know if they didnt want to get as wet as I had the last time, or what exactly.

But James and I still wanted to go, so we decided to give away our extra fastpasses. I held them up like a ticket scalper and said three Kali fastpasses, but everyone was in such a hurry to get to wherever they were going, they didnt even notice. I said, dont worry, somebody near the end of the standby line will want these. So we started down the fastpass entrance and as we walked I looked over at the standby line and asked people if they were a party of three. One of the first guys I asked said, are those fastpasses?

I said, yeah, do you want em? So he and his wife zipped over to the fastpass side and I handed them to him and said, happy birthday. We talked to them some in line, they were a nice couple from Puerto Rico. I was still left with one extra pass and I wondered if I should have held out for a party of three, but it would have been awkward to not give them to the guy.
Then we began to board our raft. Things were looking all too familiar and I said, oh no -- this is the exact same seat as the last time, and I got soaked! The cast member was right there helping us board, and he said, dont worry. Its all random. Well, Im sure youve guessed it by now. We got to the big drop and I was at the top of the raft, just like last time. As we moved down the drop, the raft was spinning, just like last time. And by the time we reached the bottom, I was at the front of the raft, and just like last time a deluge of a wave came up and over and dropped on top of me, and got James some too (the only difference from the last time).
We met up with the ladies, dried off as best we could, and then started off toward Expedition Everest to use our fastpasses. We told James this would be his last chance to ride Everest that day and he was determined to ride it -- he wanted a yeti and this was his last chance. So, on we went. And yes, he conquered it!

Oh, and Judy gave our last Kali fastpass to someone in the single-rider lane at EE, so there you go. Here are some pictures.
James and Judy enjoying the early part of the ride.
The ascent. I included this one because you can see Animal Kindom Lodge on the horizon.
Here we go again, the track is destroyed, what are we going to do?
Starting to head backwards.
Yeti shadow on the wall of the cave. This is my best yeti shadow picture.
James lovin it.
Finishing up the ride, it gets a thumbs up.
James ride, as captured by Disney. I love his expression in this one. He may have given it a thumbs-up, but he looks a little scared in this one.
He lived-up to his end of the bargain, so the bribe was paid.
We did have one problem on this ride though. During one of the rough parts of the ride Judys head slipped off of the headrest and snapped-back, giving her whiplash.

It hurt pretty bad for the rest of the trip and she didnt go on any more thrill rides. It has slowly gotten better, but just the other day she mentioned that it was hurting her. My head also slipped off of the headrest at one point, but I was lucky enough not to have my head snap back like hers did. The headrests should really extend farther, or be angled to cradle your head. Be careful trekkers!
