Our grocery store has a fuel insentive. DH lost the rewards card a while back, so our gas credits just kept building up.

Well, I finally found the rewards card the other day. We had built the rewards up to save $3.50 a gallon, 20 gallons max!

That was AWESOME!!

That's awesome. All the rewards out here don't allow you to stack.

Quickstop allows for 10 cents off each gallon with the purchase of 10 fountain drinks. (every hundred points earn 10 cents off).
Safeway gives 10 cents off each gallon for each $50 spent. So if you spend $50, $50, $75, you'd get 10 cents off 3 fill ups.

I think that's about it for around here. Although ARCO now has a debit card option which saves you the 45 cent surcharge for using a debit/credit card.

I got a FREE $100.00 fuel gift card with debt card rewards we had earned!! Has totally pulled us thru the last 3 months!!

But that is over now. thanks to the freaking Government... Who says reward points now HAVE to be signed for. Which wouldn't be a big deal for me as I always run my debt card like a credit card and sign the receipt. But Dh insists only using his pin. GRRR we will never get enough points ever again to get one of those nice gift cards!! that we so need! Totally sucks!!

Ours add up fast at Giant Eagle. For every $50 you spend (including gift cards), you earn 10 cents off per gallon of gas. Some times they run other specials like double fuelperks on gift cards or an extra 15 cents if you buy certain frozen foods. It keeps adding up and I believe you have 90 days to use them. They also have foodperks where for every 10 gallons of fuel you buy, you get 1% off of your food bill. Last time I had 10% off of my grocery bill and I always use fuelperks (never pay full price for gas there).

My friend was buying her son a bed at Pottery Barn Kids- so she went to a grocery store that sold PBK gift cards and has a gas program. In the end she got credit card and gas rewards! :thumbsup2

Around me, grocery stores can't come close to comparing to Walmart prices. We have Giant Eagle that does fuelperks and another private owned grocery store that has it's own fuel card. You can save a lot of money on gas, but it isn't close to the $100 more per week we would spend for groceries.

Between sales and coupons I've always found our local Giant (in MD, not Giant Eagle) to be MUCH better priced than Walmart.

Our Giant has Gas Rewards but you have to spend $100 to get $.10 off per gallon. They do have a lot of additional bonus points you can earn though by purchasing a certain number or dollar amount of products.

Its a good idea if you are going to make a large purchase, to first check and see if Giant Eagle has a gift card for that store. Bought our up coming WDW airline tickets by buying southwest airline gift cards. We also need to get new WDW park tickets and plan to buy WDW gift cards from Giant Eagle to do that. So when all is said and done I will have earned $2 off every gallon times 18 gallons=$36 saved!

I also buy gift cards at the grocery store.

We bought $150 in Kohls cards last week for a shopping trip at Kroger. I charged the gift cards on my 5% cash back Visa, and received .10 a gallon off 3 fillups, or .30 off 1 if in the Cincinnati area.

I used to live in NE Ohio and shopped at Giant Eagle all the time. I went in over Christmas and about puked at their prices. I would still buy loss leaders and gift cards there for gas points though.

I love Giant Eagle's fuelperk and foodperk programs. A previous poster said something about Walmart being so much cheaper, but I don't think so once you consider the amount of savings from fuelperks and foodperks. Our Giant Eagle receipts always list the annual savings from foodperks and fuelperks and sale items. Mine is always around $2500 a year. That's over $200 a month. I don't think I would save that much at Walmart. Especially after you add in the amount from double coupons up to $.99

I too, buy gift cards for purchases at our local grocery store for fuelperks. I went to WDW earlier this month and bought gift cards for the balance on the room and for food. I bought $1000 worth of gift cards and at ten cents per gallon for every $50, I saved quite a bit on gas.

The only bad thing about using gift cards for you room is that you can't do a package and you can't do on-line check-in.

Winn Dixie just started doing this in my area, they've been doing it for a while in other places. I think it's great! I saved $1/gallon the other day!

I told my husband we're shopping at winn dixie from now on and only getting cold cuts at publix.
