I spent 4 days in the parks eating all the usual foods (corndogs, pretzels, snacks my son didn't want to finish, free hotel breakfast) but also the holiday offerings (2 of those Christmas tree cupcakes, giant Mickey cookie, gingerbread Mickey, etc). I went off Keto for the trip and lived it up by drinking sugary drinks like 3 glasses of mint Julip in one sitting. I even stopped by the McDonald's for a mcrib. I flew back Monday and I finally got brave enough to step on the scale today and it's only 2lbs. I'm shocked.

Maybe it was the 15 miles a day my family walked that helped. Or my six year old (almost too big for the stroller) wanting to ride on my shoulders all the time. Or the fact that my son was so happy getting on ride after ride we didn't eat nearly as much as I could since the chimichunga line was long. He would ask to do Haunted Mansion then WEB Slingers and follow up with a very sweet and polite request to go on Thunder Mountain railway.

Whatever happened, it makes me want to not think so much about having an extra churro. Or feel bad for fitting in extra Ghirardellis. I should just enjoy myself more in the parks.

While I'm a huge fan of indulging while in the parks, it might take a little longer to reveal itself on the scale. For me, any change, good or bad takes about 10 days to show up. New, challenging workout = happiness on the scale 10 -14 days later. Bucket of churros and dole whip floats = disappointment on the scale 10 - 14 days later. I just counteract the disappointment with getting back to better habits, and remembering how much better I feel when I eat less sugar.

2lbs? That's amazing! My problem is not so much weight but sugar and cholesterol count. Burgers, sweets, it was non-stop...and even...(drum roll)....a T-bone steak at the Denny's across the street!

Disney is where I indulge tbh, there is so much walking involved I end up loosing weight instead of gaining :rotfl:
Actually, my wife said that upon returning to work, people told her she looked like she lost weight! I'm like, huh???? I guess you're right, the gazillion...neigh, bazillion steps we were taking daily helped work off our pigging out. In fact, one might even argue we probably didn't eat enough! ha ha.

Not DL, but got back from WDW Monday. The scales have not beckoned me yet. 😅

As a local I don’t usually do the really long days in the park but recently I joined my friends and left my kids at home and did 16 hours in DL the first day (27,000 steps and 12.5 miles). The following day at DCA was a bit shorter (9 hours, 16,000 steps and 8 miles). I ate my weight in DL goodies that weekends and didn’t gain anything ha ha.
