"I never complain - so why did Disney comp our room?" trip report! *UPDATED 10/28*

OK, I'm hooked. I just read your whole report and had to subscribe!

Can you tell me more of the Goodnight Kiss? I haven't heard of this.

I found a description of it for you:

"At the park's closing, the nightly 'Kiss Goodnight' is performed, in which Roy O. Disney's dedication speech for the Magic Kingdom is played all over the park alongside classic Disney music which changes with the vivid colors of the castle. When the park closes before 11pm, the show is performed again at 11pm providing entertainment for guests of Disney resort hotels bordering the Seven Seas Lagoon."

It really was special seeing it, since no one there seemed to know it was going on. It seemed like just the two of us watching it.

Day 6 - Part 2

We make our way over to the Festival of the Lion King and Gianna is still sleeping. Matthew is holding her, since they dont allow strollers in line.

Now, onto the slapping.

There was a family in front of us in line - who didnt speak English - so I wasnt sure at first what was going on. The mom was holding a boy - who looked to be around 6 or 7 - and the boy was crying. They were speaking to each other and little boy kept crying. A few minutes later, the boy spits in his mother's face! :scared1: And I mean really spit. He reared his head back and spit all over her face and she responded by knocking him HARD across the face and putting him on the ground - all as she is wiping her face clean. She was speaking to him in a very loud voice and he is bawling by this time. We are all in a bit of shock at this time. My mom didnt even see it happen. But Matthew and I did.

After yelling at him a few minutes more, she grabs his arm and brings him over to the grass right next to us and pulls his pants down and lets him pee right there. :sad2: My mom says - Is he doing what I think he is doing? Matthew says - yep, he is. :sad2: Now, I may make some people mad by saying this and I am not trying to, but if your kid has to go to the bathroom - get out of line and take them to the bathroom! Dont make your kid cry because you dont want to mess everyone else's day up by getting out of line. There will be another show. The kid was fine after that. So, it seemed to me, he was crying because he had to go to the bathroom and the mom didnt want to get out of line. Now, spitting on her was not a good response to that. But I did feel bad for the kid. And I felt bad for the mom after she was showered with spit.

It was now time to go see the show and I said to Matthew - Let's not sit next to them!!

Youch. I hate seeing incidents like that anywhere, but especially at Disney.

Day 5 - Part 6

I pose for a picture on the way out. And yes, I look a little drained today. Not much makeup and no sleep will do that to a girl.

And thanks to the Dis - I knew about the Kiss Goodnight - or Goodnight Kiss - I am not sure which it is. We get a spot in front of the castle by ourselves and watch it. It was so magical and not many people know about it obviously, because there was no one there. It happens 1 hour after the official closing. Watch it if you can next time you are there!

First of all, you look fantastic for not much makeup!

Now, what is the Goodnight Kiss? I've never heard of it...

I'm coming very late to your trip report but LOVING it! We will be at POP in December so love to hear about the resort.

And by the way your daughter to just TOO CUTE for words!

Haha - Glad you saw it.

Day 6 - Part 3

We end up in the Elephant section at FOTC. I was a warthog last time, so it was nice to change it up. ;) Gianna is still sleeping, Matthew keeps holding her. The show starts and she wakes up, obviously.

This show is the best. If you have never seen it, you have to go. It is so lively and so much fun. Great singing and acrobats. I love every part of this show. I was hoping Gianna and Matthew would, too. Mimi is a pro at this. She goes to Disney every year, so she knows about the FOTC.

Disney2008326.jpg

Gianna and Matthew adored this show! Matthew was sad when it was over and said he wished it would have lasted longer. This kept Gianna's attention more than any other show we had seen.

After the FOTC, Matthew and I decided we want to ride Everest one more time. This time there was a little wait - about 15 minutes, so not too bad. I was actually glad we got to take our time and walk through and pay attention to all the detail they put into this ride. It really is spectacular.

Disney2008343.jpg

When we were about to get on the ride, I told Matthew to look scared and I took this picture of us.

Disney2008357.jpg

We got the next to last row and it was sooo fast!! We had a great time. We both agreed this was our new favorite ride.

Disney2008359.jpg

We decided to go back to POP for a quick rest and on our way out, we saw Pocahontas.

Disney2008367.jpg

Up next... our last day in Magic Kingdom!

That pic of you two "looking scared" cracked me up....:lmao:

Jen - We must be twins, Festival of the Lion King is my most favorite thing in all of WDW! I've seen it three times and I just adore it more every time.:goodvibes

Matthew doesnt look too scared, does he? :lmao:

I LOVE Festival of the Lion King! It really is the best show in my opinion at WDW.

Day 6 - Part 4

After a quick rest and outfit change for Minnie Mouse...er..I Mean Gianna - we were off to our last day in Magic Kingdom.

She refused to wear her ears. We tried to snap a quick picture, but she wouldnt look at the camera. I will post it anyway just so you can see how cute she looked dressed like Minnie Mouse.

Disney2008373.jpg

Family photo with Matthew in shorts and a Mickey shirt - that will never happen again!

Disney2008374.jpg

A quick photo with Gianna and I and a couple friends

Disney2008377.jpg

We didnt have much time before our ADR's at Cinderella's Royal Table, but we were able to get on the teacups really quickly.

Matthew refues to ride them, stemming from horrible memories as a child and I think a grape slushie. Use your imaginations.

Here Mimi, Gianna and I are on the Teacups.

Disney2008380.jpg

After that, we make our way to the Castle for my birthday dinner! We check out a few shops close by and buy Gianna a big stuffed Mickey Mouse. She falls in love with him and wont let him go.

Matthew gets us signed in at CRT and we head inside to meet Cinderella.

Disney2008382.jpg

Gianna LOVED Cinderella. I have the pictures they took of the three of us, but that was it. They are SO cute though! Cindy asked if Gianna would sit with her and she did and was amazed by Cindy. Such a sweet and touching moment for all of us. princess: Our princess meeting a princess!

Soon after, we are brought to our table and seated. We are brought to one of the best seats in the room! Right next to the window!

Disney2008383.jpg

Our server was incredible! We loved her from the moment we met her. Gianna loved her and she loved Gianna. Every time she would walk by, she would come over and kiss Gianna on the head.

We started off with the corn and crab soup.

Oh.my.goodness. It was wonderful. What I would give to have some right now!

Here we are enjoying it. Gianna and I were having a sweet moment here.

Disney2008386.jpg

They brought G out some fresh fruit to eat while we had our appetizers.

Up next...more food and some mice!

Day 6 - Part 5

Up next was the main course. I chose the cheese tortelini.

Disney2008394-1.jpg

I enjoyed it. It was way too much food though. I could have easily shared this, but this meal is a set price for a certain amount of food, so there is no need to share anything.

Matthew got the lamb. Poor little lamb. :sad1:

Disney2008395-1.jpg

I cannot remember what Mimi got and I didnt get a photo of it. There was way too much going on!

They brought Gianna out plain pasta with butter - which was really nice of them to do. She didnt eat much - she was too excited.

Suzy and Perla - Cindy's mice came out next and this was Gianna's face fromt the moment she saw them.

Disney2008390.jpg

She was sooo excited!

Disney2008391.jpg

I am not sure which is Suzy and which is Perla - I need to do my reseach on that - but here they both are with Gianna.

Disney2008398.jpg

Disney2008404.jpg

The look on her face when they came out was worth the entire cost of this trip. She made me so happy seeing her so happy. She was just thrilled that they were coming to her and paying attention to her. It truly was magical.

Next our server came up and brought me a mini cake. She said they bring them everyone who is having a birthday and the Fairy Godmother comes around and sings to everyone.

Disney2008401-1.jpg

We also have another dessert to order now. Mimi and I went with the poached pear. It was not that good. It sounded great, but was not.

A few minutes later, I see someone walking in with a large covered platter. She seems to be coming to to our table.

They walk up and I see Matthew trying not to grin. They say - Jennifer - someone at your resort seems to think you are very special and asked us to bring you this.

I am a little embarassed at this point, because everyone is looking at me.

Disney2008408.jpg

They present me with a beautiful glass slipper with rose petals all around it. Then the lady who brought it says to me - make sure you thank your resort. :confused3

Disney2008409.jpg

I pose for a quick picture with it and they take it away to box it up for me.

It was beautiful and on one side it had engraved - Happy Birthday Jennifer - the other side said - May all your dreams come true and on the bottom it had my birthday 9/25.

I loved it! What a special gift! And then Matthew gives me a card from Gianna that said thank you for making all our dreams come true, Mama.

I am getting teary thinking about it!!

After that special treat, the mice and Fairy Godmother come around and do a little show. It was really cute.

Disney2008422.jpg

There is singing and lots of clapping. Gianna loved it.

Disney2008413.jpg

After such a magical dinner, it was time to leave CRT. This had to be my favorite night. Such a wonderful atmosphere and the looks and smiles Gianna gave me, made it even better.

Wow - this reminds me of the first time we took my son to WDW; he was 4 or 5 at the time and we were there with my in-laws. It had been a long morning and we were at Crystal palace for lunch and I don’t remember the specifics but my DS spit in my face and my instant reaction was to slap him. My MIL was horrified (I was too, to be honest). I just got up, walked out of the restaurant and went and sat down on a bench nearby. That was 18 yrs ago and I remember it like yesterday.

Not one of my better memories from the World ;)

"And then Matthew gives me a card from Gianna that said thank you for making all our dreams come true, Mama."

Now that made me cry....:goodvibes

Gianna looks adorable all dressed up as Minnie Mouse!

I'm so glad yall had such a fun time at CRT! That glass slipper is such a cute idea :)

Where did you get your Mickey shirt?

FOTC is my 2nd VERY FAVORITE thing at WDW. The first is the Kilimanjaro Safari. I could stay on that thing all day.

I can't wait to ride EE! It looks like so much fun!

Pocahontas is SO pretty!

Day 6 - Part 5

She was sooo excited!

This is exactly the kind of reaction I'm hoping for! That would make every ounce of stress totally worth it!

That is the sweetest story I have ever heard!! You are so lucky!

This is my first multi-quote, so I hope I've done it right!:confused3
