We will be staying at CSR Nov/Dec of this year, I have booked a standard room, but am wondering would it be worth the extra $93.00 total for the 7 nights to book a waterview room. DH said it is fine with him so what do you guys think as I value the honest opinions of those who have more knowledge of this resort than I have.

Shelby, I stayed at a waterview in dec. at the casitas, 3. At the time, I had no choice: I got a nice rate for the room and there was no promotion available for the std. I don´t think it is worth the extra bucks, bc you don't have a balcony. There was a hallway between my window and the view at the casitas: a bit of the lake. I didn't really enjoy the view so much, cause if I opened the curtains, the fellows outside would glimpse my mess... ;)
I did spend a long time wandering around the grounds though. It is a beautiful resort, and I enjoyed my time there immensely.

I think a majority of the people will say to save the money. I will almost always pay the extra at CSR and CBR. There is a nice psychological bonus after leaving the car or bus and walking to you room and comming out at the water. Day or night as you approach your room it is calming and beautiful. And if you do happen to sit at the table near the window it is pretty. At POR and POFQ it can be okay but the river is not as expansive of a view. Still if you want to save money you can request a courtyard view and those are nice.

Shelby, I just stayed at the CS in February. Had a standard view. We were on the 2nd floor of the Cabanas in the back but we had a beautiful view over looking a small lake. I guess it's your own preference. At WDW we just aren't in our rooms enough to care about a view. We usually leave first think in the morning and come back late in the evening - or come back in the afternoon and go to the pool then back out again in the evening.

Now when we go to the beach - the view is VERY important to us. We always insist on Ocean Front!

If you get the kind of room I had at the Casitas the last time we stayed at CSR, I'd say spend the extra. We were in the bldg. nearest to the main bldg./lobby area, and had a corner room with two windows, one overlooking the lake and the other looking over the courtyard type area created by the L or U-shape of the bldg. We were on the first floor. however, the main walkway was far enough away not to create a problem.

Prior to that, I had no choice but to stay in a waterview room in the Ranchos section which overlooked a "quiet" pool. Though it was nice to see a pretty pool when you were near the window, I didn't think it was really that special.

Only you can decide if it's worth it. $93 over 7 nights seems to be a very reasonable amt. to pay to take a chance, especially if you do your homework here, and know what type of water view would satisfy you.

We stayed at CSR last spring and had 4 rooms on the first floor of building 7b in the Rancho section....These rooms were right next to the quiet pool....It was a family reunion type thing and it was great for all of us to be able to go out of our rooms in the morning and have the pool tables and chairs just 20 feet away so we could sit together and have coffee and conversation. We never saw anyone else in this pool all week and it felt like our private space. (I am assuming that we got a free upgrade to the pool view, do they consider the pool a water view?). We really enjoyed this section, there was a bus stop right in front of the building, maybe a 1 minute walk to the dig site, and 5 minutes to the Pepper Market.

We were in a water view room during our stay at CSR, a lovely corner room in Ranchos with a beautiful view of the lake - very pretty at night. Having said that, we only had the water view because that was all that was available - don't think I'd spend the extra if I had a choice.

That price is very cheap for a waterview there. I stayed there last May, and absolutely loved this resort. It is gorgeous. I don't think enough people know how beautiful it is there. I see a lot of posts about CBR, but not as many about Coronado Springs. We had a waterview right near the main pool. It was amazing to look out the window first thing in the morning to see that waterview. Also, at night when the lights are reflecting off the water, it's pretty amazing.

The only thing about outside entry rooms, is that if you leave your curtain open, everyone walking by looks in your room. We ended up standing at the railing outside to look at our view.

All that being said, if you eat in the main building, you will have to walk by that spectacular view every day. You will have manyopportunities to see the view when you walk anywhere there, and one of the benefits of staying there is the walk around the water at night. It's beautiful.

How much was the original rate for standard view. Some of the standard views are really nice as well. You have a pretty good chance of getting a parking lot view, as the parkinglot surrounds this resort.

Maybe if you pay for a standard view room, you could request a garden view away from the parking lot.
