I need warm socks.

Now that's a strange title for a thread. But seriously. I have like 100 pairs and they all leave my toes cold! What does everyone out there use for lounging around the house in the winter months on cold concrete floors?

I'm in the same boat you are! I was looking in a couple stores yesterday for some REALLY thick socks I could wear with slippers around the house, but couldn't find anything thick and warm enough. I hope somebody here has something to suggest.

DH bought me a 3 pack of fuzzy socks at Brookstone that are SO warm and comfy. I also have some wool socks from Eddie Bauer (www.eddiebauer.com) that keep my toes toasty.

I second the Smartwool socks. LOVE THEM! I have about 6 pairs of them, and they really keep my feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer without being itchy. They wick away moisture.

I wear socks with my furry slippers. The slippers have fur on the inside and a soft, smooth material on the outside. My feet are perfectly warm.

I also have the Brookstone 3 pack and love them. Only problem isthat they tend to slide down.

I also got some from Bath and Body Works that have those non-skid dots on the bottom and I like those a lot too. Those do stay in place better and are pretty much just as warm and fuzzy.

Great responses! I didn't expect anyone to reply. I had a pair that they give you before surgery at the hospital. They were short, and had non-slip bottoms. They were my favorites. They didn't last forever though.
Now I have some leads for my ebay search!

Definitely Smart Wool. But be careful if you have slippery floors because there is little traction, and because the bottoms are cushioned, it is easy to slip.

Your problem isn't finding better the socks. What you need is a thick, plush area rug under your feet, over that cold concrete floor.

My feet are always cold even in the summer. I swear by my LLBean slippers (they are NOT pretty to look at and they are NOT cheap) but they work great for me!

Right now I am wearing them w/wool hiking socks and my feet are the only thing not cold - it is 18 degrees here in NJ.

My sister-in-law made me a pair of felted wool slippers - I LOVE these things! I wear them with socks and my feet are never cold. It's 12 below zero here right now and my toes are toasty. I think the key is wool.
